It's all because you don't have any explicit lyrics in your tracks.
I wonder if the Walmart censors edited the psychedelia out of your tracks, because it was too much for the general public to handle. |

not to offend, but why do you care what this guy did?? maybe i missed part of the story or something but ya, so he sold music to make money to eat and enjoy life...you can't just be happy about that? |

A) It was his music to sell. The track is released on his label, and by releasing a track, the label has rights to that track to do with what they what.... I know whats in the standard geo contract and that right is part of it, as it is with most labels contracts.
B) Its marketing and consumerism. Yes Walmart is the evil corporate monster, but so is Virgin, so is/was Tower and Tower Japan, both music stores which in Japan and other countries carry a large selection psy trance and other edm., as well as many other global consumer stores that do indeed, if even in small amounts carry psy trance.
In fact the very first goa cd i ever bought I bought in a Circuit City store back in the late 90's.
This is not a bad thing as it will maybe introduce new people in non muscially cultured areas to trance, and open some eyes. I personally think this is great for exposure and bringing more people into the fold.
Also it will make for more sales, which means the label will make more, and there for be able to pass on those gains to the artists that contribute, and to future releases.
Also around the world, trance festivals are often sponsored by or underwrit by major companies.
Go to Mexico, Tecate has its fingers in most events.
Red Bull also has its hands in many global fests
so really this is nothing new , and not really a big deal

As long as everyone involved is credited and compensated properly, I think this is super cool - psytrance! at Walmart! the album has 420 in the title and Cannabis on the cover! I love it.
Congrats on this Spook and all the artists.

Ha Billy, for someone who sleeps on a Wal-Mart air bed, you have no room to talk. What's next, a Mc Donalds bed cover. |

i see no problem with infiltrating the mainstream like this, taking advantage of a corporate platform...as long as spook is giving the artists their fair share...
btw, Virgin/tower is a lot less evil than Walmart...it's founder/CEO just donated several billion to developing alternative fuels, and rumour has it he's something of a pothead |
