i think if you pulled some other electronic acts, not just trance, you could really up the attendance. i know all the trance purests don't like techno, drum n bass, house, etc. but if there was a trance stage for all the psy peoples, and then another stage for all other electronica, then a lot more people would be feelin the lineup

Spliffnik, the hippies of the 60's turned out to be the biggest hypocrites. "Truly a psychedelic revolution that changed the world," are you kidding? The hippies of the 60's were part of the baby boomer generation. What is the baby boomer generation doing now? They are driving around in there SUVs, turning our country into the most materialistic country in the world. So few of the hippies of the 60's actually still live by what they believed then. The baby boomer has been a driving force in America since they were born. How could they not be? They are such a large part of our population. So if you have a problem with America you should look at who is dominating America and making America what it is today... the hippies of the 60's. Call it a theory of mine but I don't think the "opened minded" jam band kids will be any different than their parents. I am tired of hypocrites.

funny you say that Localsky...

it reminds me of a story my dad told me about his friends from college...
they all were tipical college kids (1968-1972), drinking, getting into trouble and so on. they all said that after college they aren't going to be like their parents where in fact they've been doing exactly what their parents were doing at their age. my dad bet them they'de be like their parents, and today they all are...
anyway, back to the subject. when i said 10,000 people, it wasn't ment to be the exact number, all i wanted to know is if it's possible, i wanted to know what is people's take on the scene here, how we can improve it and so on...i am against trance as mainstream just like most of you. i went to a party here in miami a week ago and it was indoor's, i hated it, i want trance to stay pure like it is, i just truly love it's culture and what it represents and it changed my way of thinking and my lifestyle and i'd love to help others reach this same thing...

okay
tov
first if it is possible have the festival in around the ontario area(canada) cause we get no good trance parties here
second maybe u should try and contact a organizer such as wemf or eclipse or any other ones u know in the united states , and speak to them about the number of people coming , cause even at big events there are small numbers of people oly cause the trance scene isnt like in israel when u have a party in the middle of the desert with 3000 people
but another thing is u can bring in the djs to other fesitval to start intreducing the music and the names , from there u can make the festival better known by haveing known artists cause i dont know how many know of someone like azax syndrom but if he come to canada or usa i am 1000000% there

I went to WEMF in 2001, they had a psytrance tent ("One World" i think it was called) with a lineup that included GMS (back then known as Growling Mad Scientists), Hallucinogen, and Medicine Drum. The tent held maybe 200 people. The huge aircraft hanger, that holds a couple thousand, is where big names like Christopher Lawrence and Paul Oakenfold were.

Sounds like they ditched the "one world" concept, anyone been to one recently?

On my midcoastal festivals page

http://www.chilluminati.org/2004/11/psychedelic-trance-1-day-from-chicago.html

(which actually includes many east coast festival accessible from Chicago)

there are more than 10 festivals listed. There are plenty of outdoor festivals, and you can do plenty with just 300-1000 people.

I believe the Burning Man psy camps also do very well.

I believe you have to be more than just music with an outdoor festival - there has to be spirituality, performance, and art. But there is plenty going on in North America right now without including the west coast.
