my shanti friend
you're 100% wright, sometimes samples from movies sound much better as a part of a track, no doubt bout it! this is not my point. all i'm sayin is that ppl got the tendecy to judge other ppl without checkin what goin on in their own hands. what's goin on with music dl is just the same with games, computer programs & movies. especialy in israel, which as we all know is leading in some aspects of piracy....
so please guys tell me if a track that comes out is made with programs that was dl from the net and got samples dl as well from the net. what am i paying for? his internet connection?????

just check what you do b4 you judge other ppl. with the situation as it is, i truely believe that as long as you BUY the cd's you like dl isn't all wrong!

I think there is a mentality problem in our scene.
There are more than 20% of people who care for the future of the scene.
The problem is, nowadays, people just don't consider spending money in music.

In my country, we have an internet penetration of about 40%, which means almost all young people have internet. People are now used to connect to soulseek, kazaa, etc and download their favourite album. Fewer cd's are sold each year.

There is a good thing in our scene, most cd's are inexpensive when compared to pop ones (the most sold). But maybe an effort to lower 1/2€ in price would also benefit sales...
another good thing would be to re-release albums with 2 years old or more at half the price... apart from a few landmark albums (about what, 3 or 4 each year?), it's very stupid to see albums from 2001 and 2000 costing the same as new releases...
especially with the full-on avalanche of nowadays, in which music loses freshness after 6 months or so.

Labels need to evolve, they need more quality control. Like someone said, releasing an crappy album of a friend artist and then complaining people don't buy cd's is a bad idea...
Also an online label store is a very good idea!
Stores like the ones 3D Vision and Phonokol have (special mention to phonokol here, the cd's in their store cost 12 dollars, which means they cost 10€!!!) are good for labels because they cut the middleman, the public pays less and labels win more.

2Snowflake: You are not paying for the internet connection... Don't play stupid.
You are paying for the artistical energies that are put in the track (which is something much greater than all the money in the world coz it comes from God) , the time and soul spent on it, the production and all the other things that an artist must invest in his music.

Let's say that you have a job which pays well, but you are an artist and you like to make music .So you stay at home or studio or whatever and write music. If that music isn't sold and dl'ed by "GRABoManiacs" you just lost a year's salary.... think about it!!!!!!!!!

you're all wright...
i got myself into a hole...
i'm no fan of all this mp3 mafia shit... i don't like that fuss over gettin unreleased stuff...
and on and on...
i just think that ppl use dl stuff more than they are willin to admit... every story has (at least..) 2 sides...
you know using soulseek, kazaa, whatever is wrong whether you use it to dl music, movies or programs...
this is by no means any attempt to justify dl.
it's just something to think about....
thats it...
