So much arguing in this thread. Lets face it, many people in this forum have been guilty of downloading tracks. Maybe not using P2P, but maybe getting it from friends? Maybe they send it to you even though you dont ask for it?
I am guilty of this... sorry. I dont do much, and i buy my cd`s. But judging from the CD Sales in the world I doubt everybody here buys their cd`s. Lets say an album sells about 2000 in the world, Japan buys about 1500(a big estimate) and the world about 500.
Now I dont think everybody buys their albums.
Then we have the few that are lucky enough to get Promos. I doubt they buy cd`s. too.
This topic is very hard. i just say, if its good buy it. If its not then...
Slomi there are a lot of people here that arent part of a particular group. Why dont you just ask a simple question and not such a contraversial one. |

We live in a material world and of course everything would be much better if we could do the music and you could bring us the food without any exchange of money..... but it's not the reality !
I have to be honest and say that the excuse that "I don't have much money" is a very very oldd and burned out excuse...
Hell I also love music and would love to have every CD ever made (except for the bad ones) but I am realistic...... I can't afford to buy them all and therefore I accept that I can't have all the great music in my collection... and yes I don't have any mp3's..... I simply just can't understand the excuse about not having enough money.....
Why is it so nessesary to have every single piece of music on the harddisk? It's not like people will ever be able to listen to it all anyway.... To me it seem like this:
It's free so hell let's download it all.......
I am all for people downloading mp3's so tehy can decide if they want to buy or not..... it's the sam eas if they go to a local music shop and liosten before they buy.....
What I don't agree with is when people download the mp3's...... buy what they like and the still keep the ones they don't "like" on their hardisk.... what's the point?
Maybe they actually do like the music but just won't admit it because it sound better that they don't like it..........

the problem is that most people only download, and buy 0 cd's.
dowload, trade, do whatever the fuck you want - but buy too.
heck, i'm not innocent either, i download too. and alot of it. but i support the scene. and that's what matters imo.

Nova I can't afford everyones CD's, I don't think theres a single person in this forum who could afford everyones CD's, so does that mean we should rob our artists and labels? Sometimes life isn't fair. I don't have an internet connection I wait till i'm at school 2 get on to this forum. I study 4 days a week and work 1, sometimes parties come up that I really want 2 go to but can't because lack of funds, does that mean I should just sneak in? Music is a luxury not a right! If we continue to rip it off, IT WILL DIE, i'm sure at sometime everyone in this forum has downloaded, but some of us have realised its better to have a small record collection and continually have great music produced for us, than it would be to have a hard disk full of shit quality mp3's with no more trance being made because all the labels went broke!
