I used to listen to house, and I used to look for FTP sites that had house MP3s. The house community is not so organized or enthusiastic, but I kept on finding this "goa" stuff instead. I got curious and started downloading. 'Darshan - Awakenings' and 'Cosmosis - Cosmology' got me very interested.

But I never fully understood the proper way to listen to psy trance. One day, after smoking some marijuana with some friends, I came home and didn't feel like sleeping. So I listened to 'Hux Flux - Cryptic Crunch' and 'TIP Records - Beyond Colour'. That night I learned how to listen to psy-trance in 3D =)

BTW, I have since purchased hundreds of psy-trance albums, most of which I have previewed first on MP3. Without MP3s I would not even know what goa/psy is, and I would not continue to buy albums because most are such shit.

Well I was kind of young...and I moved from Brazil to South Africa next to christmas....and I went to a party at new years...it was a rave...in the beggining I was kind of ...Owww!!!where am I?
But in the half way to the end of the party I started liking the hole thing...
After that I started searching for those parties and for psy trance...I purchased some Infected mushroom cds and went on and on...

now back to Brazil I think I wouldn't live without psy-trance...

I went to a hippie festival when I was 16, took my first tab of acid (I still think the strongest I had ever had), lost all my friends on New Year's Eve and was wandering around in the darkness tripping so hard I couldn't work out which direction to go - let alone speak to anyone.

This guy walked past and must have seen my massive pupils. He grabbed me on the arm and said "Go that way".

So I walked that way for about 20 minutes, right to the outskirts of the festival and suddenly I stumbled across a tiny trance party with about 150 hippies going crazy in the middle of nowhere.

I stood their on the dusty ground and the music just overtook me. Crazy dreadlocked people were twisting around me, hippies crawling around on the ground like animals. The music was taking me somewhere I had never been before.
I was awakened from my life and I have loved psy-trance from that moment.

A lot of people go out of this scene after a couple of years, but that was nearly a decade ago and it is still the only music that can take me to that special place.

The first time I listened to regular trance was on a dutch compilation called HypnoTrance 2. It had some good tracks on it, but wasn't really all that special. I then went on to listen to World Of Trance 1 and when I heard Space Track by Cosmic Baby, it was then that I knew I loved trance! But my life truly changed when a buddy of mine came forth with Distance to Goa 2. Man, I can tell you, the first time I heard Spectral, Astral Projection and especially Angelic Particles from Hallucinogen I thought: This... this is it! This is the music I like!!! And now I own a little over 200 psytrance cd's (all legally bought or ordered)           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

I was always into electronic music ever since I was born in 1978. (The year Jarre made the Equinoxe album, which still is an amazing piece of work). I listened to all kinds of synth artists ranging from Vangelis, Jarre & Kitaro to Jan Hammer, Ultravox and so on. Later on I discovered House music, which I found kinda lame at the time up until the point Kraftwerk made The Mix. That one dates from 1991 and still is an amazing piece of electronic work! I was briefly into techno like stuff and Prodigy (and even Hardcore like the Thunderdome compilations), but then I discovered Trance music with a compilation called Hypnotrance 2. And the rest of my history of becoming a trancer is already on this forum... hehe           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment.
