I always had a weak spot for psychedelic stuff like the Beatles in their LSD period and early Pink Floyd stuff...
Then I discovered in some travel magazine about Goa and beaches full of hippies dancing the night away...The pictures were nothing like the raves, techno and house stuff I've seen around somewhere in 1995. Went to a record store, asked for some GOA and came home with Hallucinogen's Twisted...
Although I never liked trance, techno nor house...The CD was non stop in my player for weeks.

First time I heard psy was also the first time I smoked weed. My friend rolled up a big joint and we were cruising around smoking in his car and he played IM-Psycho for me. I was flying. After that I remember I recorded Space Cat- Kreak off the radio and I would play that track like 15 times a day. I still have a soft spot for it.           Both teams played hard

ido: early kid

I was turned when a past gf broke up with me in 1997, that weekend my older sister (who knew about pretty much every party in belgium) gave me this flyer to a party in antwerpen, i had never heard the music before that evening (at least not that i was aware of). so i went there by myself, having no clue at all where i would end up. I never was quite the same after that evening

at the time i was listening to acid house and club trance mostly.           www.psytracks.com :: Brand new website for sharing your psytracks with the world. Get a free 250Mb Artist profile, Blog and events calender!

nice stories people..

weird how the past gf/drugs theme kicks in

I also despised trance and pretty much everything else electronic until that magical kumharas cd..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

When I was 13, after a couple of years of being a Metallica fan in the US, I returned to Israel. Back then when the US was all rock and cheesy rap, Europe had already discovered techno, and I was immediately hooked on that, and quickly started listening to rave and a bit of hardcore as well. I was already one of the regulars in the CD shop close to my home. I just saw an album with a weird cover, with some really stupid name. I listened to it at the CD store, and it was definately more interesting than the rave and techno music I intended to buy earlier. The major turning point though was Hallucinogen's wonderful Twisted album. I heard it on the day it was out (same record shop), when the owner said I'd love the CD. I listened to it once, bought it, and listened only to it for about a month.

... 11 years since the first time I heard it, and I still listen to the same music.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Well you can see i was always connected to eletronic music , im 20 today and ive been there since hmm 93-94 i think so that's quite a time..
first electronic genre i was listening to in that time was mostly commercial music euro-dance and some euro-techno , the happy years of 2 Unlimited,Ramirez etc... .
then in 96-98 i kinda moved to house till in and in between started listening to nitzhonot Abara Kadabra,Good morning israel,Holymen and his friends.
in the end of 98 starting 99 when this genre started dieing i moved back to club-trance and listening to trance aswell , in that time i started listening to gms, space cat, infected mushroom, passenger, mfg etc.
after quite time between club trance and the psychedelic trance at the end of 2001 i moved t trance completely and found out new genres aswell like progressive and techno trance and aswell the powerfull fullon which got real strong at the last 2-3 years.
now im deeply in trance , and what that brought me into here at the first place was thr atmosphere of the music is so strong and its the best for parties , no commercial shit gives your heard vibes that you can really enjoy the party and the pepole around this music mostly are great persons with no attitude - you know "amha" ppl , unlike the house "superstar" djs.
that was my story           I'm The Superviz'a Can I Get The Taxi Numbah?!

Well, it all started with electronic music like Orbital, FSOL , Aphex Twin and Altern8 in the beginning of the 90s. Since then, my music taste has evolved, and when I heard "dancing Galaxy" by AP, it was done, I had fell in love, in love with psy-trance. SO today, I listen to almost all electronic music, except euro-dance & trance, which I like to call "euro-trash"!

ah and one of my favorite tune from those early days which represent for me the goa sound is orichalum - wicked mile ep Tip rec.

I discovered the Techno sound in 1991, thanks to a French radio called Maxximum. In 1994, I became friend with a guy who introduced me to new sonic areas, like the Prodigy.

In 1995, this friend lent me the single "LSD" by Hallucinogen, saying : "this is pretty good, you should have a listen to it !". (If I remember well, he himself bought the single because of the nice cover design.)

Indeed it was !!

I then bought the album "Twisted" when it was released, and many more afterwards...

traveller are you sure?
anyway, i was always into electronic music, but since clubs only played dance or dream music that's what i had to hear, when prodigy came, it was a turning point, i loved them, and their more trance related tracks (the narcotic suite tracks in the jilted generation).
after a while my brother came back from the far east and immedietly bought goa-gil's forest of the saints cd, and that was my first and one of my most loved cds ever! then he showed me the movie karahana, and i knew i wanted to be in something like this. so i took my friends to a forest party, they all sat moaping, police came and busted it. a while passed, and i went and came back from the far east only to find my friends were all into trance suddenly (got out of the army) and here we are today, a gang of party psychos           Super-teen extraordinaire Freakazoid!
