its not only about music itself, but about parties and crowd that visit it. about drugs that used there (or not at all) and public relation of all case (in israel). i mean i think 100 times before i go to outdoor (or almost dont go at all. but its not new, after boom 2000 i dont realy was at many outdoors) coze too much music pointless, too high prices for parties and too low fun after all.
its just i know i can do way more funny things in this two free days than just go to some pointless party, so i decide its over.. its over..
:):):):)
but,who care ???
dont look back, just buy another pantytek (or famous then dead) record and have fun, hear me ??           Believe your soul !

I guess the point is - get up off yer arse and do somethin about it!
I am but one person.. passionate about the old school vibe, and wishing to translate it into this new millenium.. maybe if there are a hundred of us dedicated to the cause, a new movement will be born?

If you wanna see the old spirit come back we cannot rely on conventional distribution methods. Like an album? Don't just buy it - tell people about it... or buy 10 and sell a few to friends. Throw a small party for 50 people you know out in the woods and play some old classics... or rent out a little venue in town and pass the word around! Find a crew and contribute some of your artistic talents to decor, or write a black & white photocopied zine about the music... wanna introduce some souls to the technoshamanism concept? Write up a pamphlet, take comments from the net, distribute it to people who would know... or email your favourite promoters and encourage them to hold a theme night with classic Goa sounds, and hype it up to everyone you think would dig that. If you have money, or good credit, consider contacting some old school artists and invite them to release some music free of profit-margin-persecution... do something unconventional, be a leader, a free-thinker, a mover and shaker, an advocate! The underground only works when the members are ACTIVE and doing something... By sitting back and doing nothing you're welcoming the eventual commercialized takeover... because hey, if albums aren't selling the labels are going to change, right? But this isn't like the weather... you can DO something about it...

GOA is not dead yet. It doesn't have to die. It can peacefully co-exist with the new styles of PSY that many people fully enjoy. We can all have the best of both worlds. All that is required is enthusiasm and effort!

Olii has a point there.

True, the music has changed, some parties have been done for pure commercial profit, unlike parties in goa 10 years ago,BUT, Life is full of changes and there's nothing you can do about it.
While you are whining, like so many people before you, that the spirit is dead, the vibe is gone -
many other people around the world are just discovering psychedelic trance for the 1st time, and are experiencing the same feelings and vibes that you felt a few years ago.

so,excuse me for being harsh, but these complaints about the lost spirit of goa are populating too much forums recently.

and i really think that the reason for that isn't the death of the"good ol' spirit" ,but the evolution of the individual only.

Tsuyoshi Suzuki claimed that goa is dead in 1997 in his R.I.P compilation in Matsuri Records. Well I remember how pissed off I was to hear that at the time... but he was right... as a great artist he realised the potential and the feel of an end and cast himself out. Then I wouldn't understand that and these days, for a long time now, I can say Goa is Dead and well... we gotta move on..

Where the trance moves on it's another issue altogether - there will b the ones ( the most ) that will like it, they will b more commercial oriented ppl, usually younger ppl that know the name Goa only from stories / or from their own interpretations.. Actually, in this forum there are not many ( or actually very few ) ppl that really been to Goa @ the glory days ( till 95 or so ).. and there will be the ones ( so few...... ) that will cherish the memory - move on, but remember what they have learned and perceived in those times ( when the rock was young ) and USE it TODAY, to make some ppl from the bigger group SEE and maybe understand the issue..

No need to wheep for yesterday, use the special energy to make the today and the tomorrow more positive and special

Yuli is so right at his here
im not a newcomer to this music but never was @ Goa so i always asked this question, how all this party ppl feel so deep connection to Goa but never was there (or was at last three years, after the place as i know not realy the Goa that its used to be). interpritation its a right word. imagination is a strong side of our community, but common, what is Goa for us (ppl that never was there, and we about 95% here,no ??).
i was at 4 international psy trance festivals but its not make me understand what ppl expirienced in Goa, ao how ppl who was at mikhmoret and nitzanim talk about goa as it their life goal and stuff.
and this hippie crap that connected to trance - ??? why hippie and not gays ?? or may be drag culture and mc donalds ???           Believe your soul !

Once again some people here believe that "GOA" is dead , the spirit is lost , the music is not so crazy as it was 5-6 years ago and so on..

Ok music has changed , people changed , drugs changed everything is changed! Thats good or bad ? It depends from the person , from the personal experiences and so on.

IMO I believe that still the music is crazy as it was 5-6 years ago. I believe that people changed because i changed as well(you changed too remember?).. so also the way of experiencing this strange but incredible music is changed.. Technologies changed , instruments changed , everything is changed so why not psychedelic trance change..Every day something new is coming and something get lost in the past..
wHY go back in time while we can Move to The Future?

After all it seems that trance isn't that ageless after all, even here we see already a generation change, the older crowd holding on to Goa....

nikur: good trance is ageless. Tsuyoshi at Samothraki showed the crowd what oldschool can do - very, very few surpassed him in the power of his set. Ohh, and Fast Forward the Future was by Zodiac Youth.

Stop with that elitist attitude of "music today is better than the old music". It's a different style and the comparisson is invalid except when you compare very specific things. You don't compare heavy metal and classical music, why compare old goa trance to full-on or to progressive? It's stupid. And thinking that one style is better than another is the same.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

it's all about evolution. nothing can't stay the same for along time. that is the nature of things and you all know it.           -=The Meaning Of Life Is To Give Life A Meaning=
