Have to agree with you there mr maux..
forums are boring mad places !
I just had a rant yesterday just to get everybodys attention about negativity...
but that's just my opinion.. right ?
I only wrote about Entheogenic because I just bought their new album for £10+1.50 for P&P, which IMO is a lot of $$$ for a CD !!! just for someone to come along & trash it in 2 sentences... Ok, so i was a bit hursh
But £10... I was doing what any hot-blooded Aussie would do ! protect his measly investment
I've been listening to psychedelic music for over 30 years from the greats like Syd Barret & Jimi Hendrix to Mozart to that little tribe in papa new guinea - & then the 80's hit us [WTF] but it was a transitional period & then electronic music began to take off... Many Many great artists began to emerge.. my 2 main favs being FSOL & The Orb ! but really there are far too many good artists to mention... & today I think there is a lot of talent out there.. young & old
OK so Master M has a point about it all being brainwashed - but we're all deluded & brainwashed !!! that's why we turned to psychedelics.. right ? just to remind us that we're actually infact tripping our tits off all the blinking time !!! & that everything is psychedelic - it's just how you perceive it ? IMO
But who cares what I think !!! i'm just another alter ego flexing his invisible horns..
Maybe I'm just jealous because i wish was a musician [every mans dream @some point in his life] i just don't have the time or know how & can't even sing in tune !
But this won't stop me being passionate about the music I love - we all know when something is good or bad... we all just react differently..
& maybe I'm just another nutter who can't see his own arse to his beak.. hehe [again sorry to Master M.. but I do find that quite an amusing visual sentence]
down the rabbit hole I go...

How does that help sell more banners? If I would think that way I would think the opposite, more mess and controversy, more heated discussions, more hits, more exposure, better for banners! no?
Why is it so hard to accept that I might do things not for money? Even after I (and others, of couhse) have been running this place and paying for it from our pocket for more then a decade. I truly wonder.

I would love it if you check with yourself if this response of yours comes from a true place or from this thing in you that has to rebel against everything that is "system"/majority/"authority"/etc.

Also I would like to know if you don't think that this discussion about Entheogenic's music (or lack of it) will be just as interesting (not boring) without curses, drug abuse allegations, and/or violence? Because if the answer is no, then you better quit here- because we're not interested in having a forum based on these. If the answer is yes, then why not do it like that? You're invited to start the conversation from fresh- I promise to contribute.

i think that when some people witness so much uncritical praise of albums or artists or labels, it brings out a natural desire to restore balance.
some people love their psy cheese... i wouldn't take that away from them - i just choose not to listen to it. sugary sweetness should be kept in the kitchen and out of the studio.
running a label i get a lot of feedback on our releases - and it never ceases to amaze me how varied it is... some people express great love for what seem to me to be the weakest tunes.
there is rarely any consensus. I find that very re-assuring.
consensus, group think or uncritical praise all bother me greatly. even if we were benefitting from receiving it.
we all have an equal right to express our views, and none of us can or should claim any enhanced authority for them. anyone so doing is just flexing their ego.
i think that Mau and Moreno and Justin's critiques do come from a true place. to the "system/majority/authority" list that you wrote Shahar I would also humbly offer "blind consensus" and "uncritical adulation". I know where i stand.
why lock the thread ? why not let people fall or stand under the weight of their words... unless this is to be just a happy nice place where we all agree most of the time.
as an artist or label, it works best if you ignore the praise as well as the criticism... otherwise you descend into a spiral of narcissism, pride or self doubt

I locked that thread, and well explained that there and here, not because of what was said but because of the way it was said.
Why can't that discussion be had with respect to the others involved? Respect to others is just as important to me as independent thinking and open mindedness. Actually even more. I believe it is lack of respect to others that is in the base of our society lacking in both (and in many other important virtues).

I don't want to start it myself, as I haven't heard their last album (and probably won't, as Golden Cap made it clear enough to me that they are going nowhere that is intresting or good to my ears).

you missed that shahar...I am sorry you didn't have fun and you didn't let us have fun.
you speak like the Dalai Lama but you act like Mr Murdock....nice conbination.
I suggest you that next time that you need to show us your muscles in the morning...do some push ups...and don't lock topics where ppl have their own arguments with the words they like most....where you failed to contribute in any intelligent way.
