great fun.top sound systems opus audio and funtion 1...great people, apart from the thieves and security.
as far as trance goes,E.V.P,headroom,scorb,error corrective,ecliptic,v.o.cod and koxbox rocked and are well worth seeing again!!
great cider, great country side, great hallucinations/great totty, bit to quiet at times..bit more psycedelic music needed though, still to much of a commercial cheesy edge to the trance.
still, good fun all round..

hi all.. well i had a really great time i didnt get to spend as much time as i wanted in the origin stage as it was a bit too HOT, people whats wrong with, you make some shade. i know its england and stuff but its bloody 30 degrees, dont need any drug to get hallucinations just dance in the heat for 5 minuts. In the whole festival there were just not enough shady areas to chill out.

For me Voice Of cod was probably one of the best sets i heard although i didnt get to hear a lot but that set got me from really far away to the dance floor. some of the stuff that was played by other djs was a bit too commercial and dissapointing like Domestic.

Also i think there were too many people in the festival, everywhere you go the ques where mental, but the atmoshphere was great i havent seen or heard any problems and it all seems to be organized pretty well.

I still dont see a reson why the prices went up, if it was the same place same stages and same fucking FENCE.

all in all another faboulus weekend in the english country side....

The price went up because it was licensed for several thousand more people this year than last time. This meant increased security, improved infrastructure and, I think, increased licensing fees. Hence the increased ticket price.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Overall I liked last year's festival more than this year.

Of course this doesn't mean that I didn't like this year's Glade. On the contrary I loved it cause I had once more a great time!

Still, there some things that I didn't like.

First of all the price ticket was increased to £100 pounds.

This is because of the increased security, which apparently it may have worked better than last year this time but not good enough since a lot of people were once more ripped-off.

Secondly, what was this change of Venue all about or even the re-arrangement of the venue itself within the same location?

It was exactly the same location, and the only re-arrangements I noticed was the Liquid stage being bigger this year and on a slightly different spot than last year.

Not only did the venue not change (it was claimed that this would change due to the neighbours' complaints on the noise and the security) but this year the music stopped at 12 at the Origin stage??? Excuse me but as far as I know I am going to a festival and not a pub.

Also, the music stopped at 4 in the morning at the other tents? They cut off the best part of a festival which is dancing until sunrise. This is not happening in any other festival in the world.

I guess you're gonna tell me this is England mate.

Well yeah, but I didn't pay £100 pounds worth of ticket for a festival to have the music stop at 12 as if in my local pub. P.S. My local pub stays open after 12 at night.

Also, I don't know about Colin's statement that because they acquired a licence for more people this year, that's why the ticket was more expensive. I know that it was because the organisers didn't want any corporate funding etc. Whatever the case, there were still around 4000 people more than last year and in total all of these people paid 20 quid more per head than last year for a ticket.

Another thing is the showers. You have a massive festival with 9 tents and only one location with showers? This is definitely a first one. Do you mind putting more showers next time and in more locations within the festival? Or you are expecting to have 12000 people use the 15 showers or so that were available and only on one location? Especially with the fantastic weather of the last two years, I wouldn't mind having a shower somewhere closer to the dancefloor to quickly cool myself down and continue dancing.

Other than that, the names in the festival were not that big as last year (at least for me) but I have no complaints about the music. You would listen to amazing music to all stages from time to time.

Last but not least a big thumbs up to the organisers for this year's toilets. It was so much better than last year!

All the best and I hope next year it will be even better!

Glade has its problems but you'll struggle to find such a diverse collection of dance music anywhere else in the world-this year was the best yet in many ways but on the flip side there are things to build on for next year and I hope some changes are made.
But I was well proud to be part of it and if you want cheap psytrance - go to Europe.. but if you want an eclectic, original british experience that makes an effort to push boundries then you know where to go.

Thats what I think anyway            ..::I don't advise a haircut, man. All hairdressers are in the employment of the government. Hairs are your aerials. They pick up signals from the cosmos, and transmit them directly into the brain. This is the reason bald-headed men are uptight::..

I completely agree with you purpleproject.

Europe is much cheaper and Glade is the only festival that offers a diverse collection of dance music. This is the prime reason I am going to the Glade for the last two years.

Still, this doesn't mean that we should not point out the negative things that we notice especially when we are talking about the most expensive festival in Europe. It's part of the 'improving-for-next-time' process.

As for the eclectic British experience that you mention, no offense but it makes no difference to me whether it is British, German or anything else for that matter. I tend to see things more objectively on that account based purely on the fact that I am not British, plus my experience from other festivals that I have been in the past.

Please don't take this wrong, I don't mean to offend anyone. At the end of the day if I didn't like the Glade I wouldn't have been going there for the last two years...

So, Lux, let me get this straight. you 'had a great time once more' at Glade... great enough for you to write a really long post detailing everything about it you didn't like.

And I thought us Brits were fucking whingers.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Colin, my post was my review on the festival.

A review means that you write about the good things and the bad things that you notice. I didn't say anything different from what other people have noticed as well. These are the facts and I'm honest enough to share them.

Simple as that. If you don't like my posts there is nothing I can do about it.

...and it doesn't matter if you are Brit or not.

britain is more expensive than elsewhere in europe - fact

bristish trance parties are more expensive than others in europe - fact

who's fault is that?

should we really be bitching about the festival?

or is a lot of this redundant commentary about stuff that should have been obvious before you bought the ticket??

lotsa love

In answer to the title of this thread, Glade is clearly the best uk party. If it was a rip-off then it wouldn't have sold out.
It's a fair bit to pay, but you certainly get your moneys worth.

There's nothing I like more than dancing in the english countryside to great music on a big sound system knowing that the police aren't about to come and turn the music off.

Its fair enough to point out what you thought was wrong with the festival, but some of the posts here come across a bit one sided and perhaps weren't meant to seem so.
