come on guys i want some imput here!

Why are most of the peeps here in the forum so fixated with fullon ?

There is so much music out there thats good !! really good.... what about groups like insect sun, PPS Proj, Tegma, wizzy noise (i know they have also put out a fullon album but there older stuff), authentik, Lish, deviant species... minimal, minimal to prgressive, progressive and tech trance... and may more styles

all i see in the forms is fullon fullon fullon... fullon can at times be great party music.... All the party i attend here in SA are good .. Fullon though but good....

granted, yes there are good artists pushing the fullon scene. But if u ask most DJ's these days what style they are pushing ... gee wait wait.. lets see ... and the winner is ? FULLON!

ooi so what do u guys think fullon is it getting tierd .... or is it not ... yay or nay ..

im not dissing anyone with this post as i appreciate all music.

ur imput would be valuble

laters.

Well... I don't see any problem at all with other people listening to full on. It's ok to recommend some projects and do a sort of promo for minimal or progressive to make people aware of the other genres out there... but in the end they will listen to what they like.

I would personally rather listen to full on (GMS & co.) rather than minimal... or even progressive (although there are a few exceptions when it comes to morning progressive).

But in the end... the music I listen to the most is PSYCHEDELIC trance (note the caps) - Penta, Talpa, Steptime, Miraculix, Logic Bomb, etc. And releases from Ketuh Records, SundDance, Stone Age...           How am I supposed to hallucinate with all these swirling colors distracting me!

i think u answered your own question...

I personally prefer fullon, I'm not a very big fan of this choping of psy trance in 1001 categories, as i already expressed in other threads, but yeah If I had to choose a category winner I would go for full-on, its the one that gets me more into it.

But I like good projects, whatever category they fit into, they just have to take me into a psy trip and sound goooood!

ahh full on tires me when i listen to it at home. its hard to listen to full on for a album or so, my head gets tired. but still i like it and listen to it for a couple of song
also people talk about psy scene gettin progressive and more clubby music. everybody talks and complains about genres they dont like. dont see any sense in this.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

can't we all just bash the boring minimal trance and let the good stuff alone?

Maybe because most of the ppl in this forum are israelis?
And maybe because most of them are young and they haven't heard a lot of different things yet?
Maybe because a lot of the users, used to be into metal before getting into psy-trance?

Well, I'm not from Israel, I'm older than 90% of people here, heard a lot of different stuff and I love full on. The melodies are so good to listen during sunrise... and at all other times
Also, I love progressive/melodic metal, but don't think guitars are necessary to make great music, for example, Protoculture - New Directions and Sesto Sento - Sneaky Sneaky are better than any guitar track IMO.
It's all a matter of taste.

Look to these threads, about the same issue:

Full on doesn't really have much melodies, compared to old Goa. Instead it consists of clichées, standard sounds and and the same repeating formulas which then are copied by each other.

So, let the old goa melodies and lots of acid come back and make some good trance music.           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

I know it's your opinion, but I strongly disagree.
Obviously there are LOTS of bad full on tracks, as in any other psytrance style, but there are also amazing jewels.
Here is the importance of the DJ, he choose the music, and if the DJ is a good one he chooses not the unreleased, but the original, creative and moment fitting tracks.
Also, old goa stuff is great, but today there are lots of different artists working very hard, and if you're going to tell me that all of them are trying to copy someone else instead of making original stuff, sorry, I won't believe you.

I agree with u gem_37 i think full on has become too similar...
almost every track contains the same bassline...kicks... and especially the breaks..!!
but thats how the style is... and i also do agree that this kind of music is very good for parties...
but anyway... i also think that minimal and progressive stuff needs to be taken more serious than its being...
i might think this because im a minimal listener...

Good Post Gem_37 i think it's an important question

i agree with both of u
each style has its jewel
there are many psychedelic "full on" artists that produce amazing music (bamboo forest , psycraft , altom, triptych , silicon sound and many more)
but nowadays we can see so many new full on projects that all sound the same, working all with the same synth patches , same kicks, always the same basslines , same track construction... and i 'm really tired of this kind of full on .... and i'm tired of always listening to these projects in parties , cause that's what is played the most here in paris in psychedelic parties .. always the same boring formulated stuffs.....

i love good progressive, i love good full on , but i'm tired of copy-paste music

I serious don't understand you people who says that Full On has become much too similar. If you are a psytrancer which like to dance to the lovely sounds of psytrance, then Full On is the best music too go crazy to. Full On forever and ever, just my point of view.

bye.

well if a formula works u use it...after all the formula Albert found is still working!

we are talking about art, not science ...
i may be stupid but for me music , and all forms of art is about creation and not copying a formula... when music is about creation and personnality and soul, then it's art .... if it's about everybody copying everybody then it's commercialism

but i agree with u about the supidity of categorizing music
good music is good music , crap is crap
