of course , but also many people would like to hear something else than a 12 hours full on marathon in parties.... many many people like non full on trance...
is it so hard to put a diversified line up with progressive, minimal & full on ?? i don't think so ... but the trend nowadays is full on to the bones and more & more people get sick of this

in the end there are far more people who prefer 12h full on marathons over progressive & minimal

don't make it as a generality
many people now don't even go to parties anymore because of this full fullon parties
there a way many more people that are tired of this than u think ..unless in my country , can't tell for the rest of the world
i guess there are still countries that are 100 % full on (brazil as an exemple)
but dude , don't even imagine the scene as 99% of full on listeners
many people enjoy trance in general, that means fullon AND progressive AND minimal AND dark psychedelic ...etc

don't u think people would enjoy this kind of line up :
12> 2.00 minimal / prog
2.00>4.00 full on
4.00>6.00 dark psychedelic or hard progressive
6.00>8.00 full on
8.00>10.00 progressive
(just an exemple)

i think people would learn to hear and appreciate something different that 145bpm ireali full on (i'm not saying this is bad music , this is good music but overplayed)

All I see from progsters is a extremely elitist approach to the music. If we let them, they would make psyparties in concert halls, with numbered seats and a strict prohibition on making noise...

And what is so damn wrong with that? If I keep doing this dancing shit, I probably won't be able to walk anymore by the time I am 40!

Come on....not all "prog lovers" fit into this stereotype of being a judgemental snob, just the loudest ones that say the most.

If somebody truly believes that all full-on is crappy unintelligent music and that full-on listeners are dumb, then they are just an asshole and you shouldn't even bother listening to them anyways. But I have met very few, if any, people like that.

I think that most of the people who complain about the sound are simply sick of hearing it *all the time* and would probably shut their piehole if it were more balanced with other styles at parties. Shit, I am sick to death of hearing 90% full-on at parties here, but I actually do own and like several "typical" full-on CDs (eg. Astrix, 1200 Mics) and have no problems whatsoever with the style itself.

I feel like a fuggin' broken record.....

And anyways, I do feel that more and more releases are breaking out of the dominant "standard-nothing-new" full-on rut. I have been hearing releases in the last 6 months that have some elements of the full-on sound, but are really starting to push something new again. I've heard a lot of blazing psychedelic stuff that isn't full-on or prog at all. It's just going to take a few months before you start hearing the effect in parties.

Then we will have another year or two of peace before people find something else to complain about again.

krelm, once again, a succinct answer...thats it, its not that we dont like fullon, its in no way an elitist comment, just change is good, not just 90% fullon, 10% anything else at parties...
i guess whatever becomes popular, becomes used to death, as in every other fashion, popular culture trend... c'est la vie, the second something shows promise, its marketed and sold to death...

Nice post Krelm, nice post...

Sukanta, u´r way off man, Brazil is not 100% full-on and usually there is a small prog party every time there is a big festival. And the bitching minuendo has come this side of the Atlantic also...

This discussion will never be solved as it revolves around personnal taste.

Sold out is Dino Psaras, whom now comes with a fullonish cd...

And just to finish, I don´t give a rat ass about what anyone thinks about stuff I love... I just love it and thats all... U guys should try being a little more careless...

OT:

Brazil is more than 90% full-on. From 10 events, you have at least 9 filled by full-on djs...

full on can be good and bad.

as well as all the fucking genres can be good and bad!

you are talking about full on as "astrix" or as I don't care who....
full on is not sub genre, full on is psytrance with power, the people who call it full on, call it like that because they want to make divider between the sub genres that came up to the reall psytrance "psychedelic goa trance" which have much more elements that you think, because full on is not just astrix and parasense and hux flux etc...

The bottom line - full on is just a word that came up because the sub genres like "minimal" "techtrance" came up!
without those sub genres "full on" would never called full on, full on would stay psytrance!
this is so clear, you just can't face things sometime...

what u guys call "progressive " isn't it house more than trance in the parties ?
i ve been told by some friends that usually on the "prog" stage, it's house/tek house that's been played

Hi Sukanta

What i call progressive is definately not house...

to the rest:

i have spoken to a number of Brazilians and they all told me that the only music that they play or hear at parties is fullon...

ive never been there personally but thats word of mouth from a DJ there ...

I'm amazed by your never ending energy for this subject. I love when you mix the music on a party or festival to give people a variated, surprising and interesting dance experience ... and then I'm not talking about only trance. Why not squeeze all the danceable music to one party ... trance, house, breakz, techno and so on.
The party organization Earthcore in Australia is a really good example in mixing all styles and then of course the fusion festival in Germany is the best of the best ... seven stages will ALL kind of electronic music during four days .... walking around at that festival gives most people some unexpected experiences ... for me that's one of the important reasons for going to a festival.

Take care ... Ciao!
