1- My friends ain't the whole "Rio audience" I was just saying what I see close to me.
2- I would love to listen to more full on here, but I can assure you DJs play much more progressive stuff
3- Off course there are full on FJs here... but it's not like you guys say it is in Sao Paulo.
BTW: where are you from Diogo?

Well, this fullon x progressive argument, chances are it´s leading to nowhere. I do think there´s a lot to do with the brazilian culture, with the tunes the brazilian ears have grown accustomed to hear, no matter the specific social strata you pick out. Our culture, both literary as well as musical, tends to fall within what I call an "expressionist" frame. That´s why easy melodic tunes & riffs are so much appreciated down here, which also helps to explain the fullon preference. Once you require by means of any art, be it painting, literature or music, that ppl here "abstract" certain feelings & sensations, as I think is exactly the case with Progressive, your audience gets somewhat narrowed down. |

2- Thats not right bro...because you know,there are more full on djs playing then progressive djs here.....(Matera, Cicero X Bruno Braga, ZéO e Marian Flow, Lorenzo, Rica(playing lots of his guitar stuff )..etc
3- I said that because I live in Rio, and I know the scene for a few years Karp.....
Well Karp, what I think you wish to see here in Rio is good full on djs, I mean those good as the progressive ones right!?, or even better, and those I mentioned, I guess don't fullfill your "full on" expectations hehe (not only yours man I guarantee ) ,and off course I understand that, and thats why you don't listen to full on here on are parties right?, but those full on djs I mentioned, often play....perhaps because you are not used to watch this guys you may think there's more progressive playing, but there's not...what is missing is quality full on music karp.....and thats what you're looking for..
and thats what the scene demands it.........

Maybe that's it...
not high quality full on...
I mean, I want a DJ to play a whole set of full on like Lorenzo does (without oddball rally and inteligent life LOL) Some of those DJs you mentioned play some full on stuff, but not as much as DJs play in Sao Paulo.
BTW: I don't go to many parties here in Rio, I don't really like it, so I'll let you give the final speech. I went to this party last saturday, and man, I didn't hear one full on track that made my day.

you can say prog is higher quality...

i dont care what ppl say about the quality or all that bullshit.
i know 1 thing.
what i like.
i know my taste.
nothing to do with quality or whatever...
and i enjoy full on much more then other stuff.
its as simple as that.
like 1 2 3...
taste is the key word.

I think it can depends on your spirit state.... sometimes i prefer full on but sometimes i like to listen progressive... and i already saw a lot of djs that played full on and progressive in his sets..... i think that the energy is one. :) |

I'm really into full on music. I'm from Belo Horizonte and I have to say that here full on is very popular. Most of our djs play full on music, and I know some very good ones, like PIN, Prestor, Fred, Android... Those guys play very nice full on music. |
