I first started liking progressive.... then I understood full on.

What you guys are saying about progressive being the natural evolution, I just can't agree....
It's like saying Deep House is the natural evolution of Progressive House or something. People are different and with different tastes, and that's what makes the Earth move. I think parties should have both styles, and from what you guys say São Paulo doesn't like progressive. As I said São Paulo isn't the only town in Brazil. Here in Rio almost all my friends prefer progressive over full on.

This is called personal taste and that's it....

Karp, personal taste is one thing. Blown-out mania is another.
When 99% of the ppl have the same taste, sth is wrong man. That's why i called this thread Full On Addiction. Whenever the only thing that gets a party going is a Skazi guitar riff or a GMS synth line, i believe we have a problem my friend. That's the case here.
And u gotta agree with me and Asaf that overall, average quality of progressive is higher than full on.
No badmouthing intended. At all.

i realy dont know if eyal sales or not... and honestly i dont care.
but 1 of the symbols 4 that are the burned cd`s stores in tel aviv. they used to be full wuth all this nitzachon staff, u just gotta c it now... only full on, psy and progg.
another symbol is that i didnt heard latly that one of the nitzchonot "god-fathers" is plaing in a party.

no way man... we r sooooo over it

Well dude I should say your friends preffer it man ...because there's an audience for both styles here in Rio...and it doesn't mean that because Rio has Matera and Cicero as their "famous" dj's that progressive trance is the style in Rio. There are dj's that play full on in rio, but ppl in SP do not know them, because they already have a lot their own djs which are many, because their scene is bigger.....
so when you say that ppl in Rio preffer progressive...you're WRONG. There's an audience for all styles here, and full on in rio rocks as well as poregressive or even more..

Well guys, I think this matter is more complex than it looks like...I think that the Full On madness in Brazil is explained by 3 factors.
First, its much more easy to start enjoying full on, than prog/tech, its much more "catching" , second thing, it has a lot to do with what djs in the area are playing, most djs play full on, so most people will enjoy full on, thats why in Rio people like more prog, because they play more prog...and third factor, the tropical climate favors a more "happy" sound than it would in a cold and grim place like Sweden and Germany. Thats why extreme style music always grew in places like Escandinavia and Germany and happier and melodic music always came from hot places! But off course exceptions always exist!

good one Seth!
i was thinking on something, maybe i'm saying b.shit.

i was thinking.. we show what we are...
Brazil has differents way of living, by locations/regions.
Like in bahia.. always slow... very "relax"... like a life chilling :-).
Here in sao paulo we live running, non stoping, don't have time for nothing, finish one thing and say "Now i have to do the other thing!". Always running... (in bahia they'll say: "tomorrow i'll do the other thing" hehehehe)
In Rio they have a different (and maybe better) way of leaving cauz they go to the beach, walk on them, they spent more time "thinking, reflecting".
a more relaxed way of living..

So here in sao paulo what we see, is what we are.

it's not a concluded opinion, i just was thinking... and wanted to share...

Are you saying that vibrasphere are "cold scandinavian sound"? Haldolium are "unhappy german sound"?

progressive isn't just dark and evil.

On the other hand... Dark Soho, Skazi and all of that full-on style is pretty dark and evil, not very happy. Not a good example for why people prefer full-on in Brazil.

Agreed Asaf. And with u go along the country-music style theory, how would u define israeli music? probably the lish guys live in a swedish home, while ari linker can taste "caipirinha" in his place. come on guys! let's be a little more thoughtful....;-)

I agree with Assaf too. And I like progressive exactly cause it´s happier!!! I know that there´s a lot of unhappy prog tracks, but what I like is very happy.

Asaf..I still stick with my opinion, let me explain myself a bit further...Im not saying Vibrasphere and Haldolium is dark and evil, its not, but for sure it is a cold sound, Skazi is dark and evil, but its still an uplifting and energetic sound as most Israeli and Ibiza artists. And as i mentioned, off course there are exceptions, PPS Project in Israel, Hux Flux in Sweden, Electric Universe in Germany, Dimension 5/Ra in Norway....but if you make an analysis of all artists by country, you will find out that what i said is right! Most artists in Escandinavia make "melancholic" music. Most Tropical climate places artists make more colorful music. And offf course Im not saying what is better or worse....

Hi asaf.
i'm not saying that i think i expressed myself wrong, i think progressive and full on has dark and happy tracks, for sure!!
I said in Rio most of people like progressive, and said that they'r relaxed. Maybe u understood it wrong.
never said that progressive are unhappy..
well, that's it! :-)
