I think the real problem is that ppl who like progressive, think that it's a natural evolution that after sometime listening to trance, you'll prefer progressive, cause it's "harder" to enjoy. If you look at other styles of music here, you'll see that what people like is uplifting music such as axé or samba. In my opinion people here want to dance as much as they can, move their bodies around, just like in carnaval...and there's nothing better than full on to do that...Progressive was originally made for those guys n girls in Sweden or wherever is very cold to dance under those enormous jackets and coats when it's snowing and stuff...

As a progressive lover I say:"If u want to freak out listen to full on, but if u wanna dance listen to prog tracks."
But i don´t agree with the understanding thing. I think taste is taste. What I think is that here in São Paulo there´s ONLY full on parties. So the public ONLY listen to full on. So how ppl can like proggy if there´s no proggy here. I know that we have some good prog dj´s here, but they don´t have many places and times to play. That´s my opinion.

Progressive rulez!!!

Thiago... SP is mainly full on, 4 sure, but you can take my open air party last december as an exemple: besides Nomad, Stefano, Mack ,a bit of Feio´s set and I, that played full on music, there was a 3 hour progressive set by Claudio Brio, 2 hour progressive set by Matera and half of Feio´s set and a lot of Swarup´s set of progressive....

XXXPerience last november: S-Range, Noma and Prex live.... Feio played quite progressive and Brio as well...

Higher Spirit: Alhad, Phony Orphants live, Sasha (Bitmonx), Oli (M.O.S.)...well.... hell of a progressive party...

Chaishop Party this saturday:

Vazik (Spirit Zone), Sam@Chaishop, Oli (M.O.S.), Marcus (Treibstoff/Tatsu Records)...

well, few examples to show u that there are progressive parties or progressive djs playing @ parties as well...

It seems that we do have full on from midnight to six on the afternoon... it´s not really like that, man...

OK. You´re right VOR, we had a few progressive sets last year, not none as my message supposed... Sorry to organization of all parties...
But what I miss is any progressive dj that really makes the dancefloor DANCE. Maybe that´s why ppl prefer full on. Cause everybody goes to a party to dance, don´t? Juarez makes it, but I think that his set has too different styles. One prog, two full on,... U know what I mean?

I sure do!

But I think that Claudio Brio (yeah, ok, he´s on his way too fluffy) and Matera are doing it on a very good way;) And you lost Bob´s set @ Tranceformation...he´ve played just after me.... really groovy stuffy... lot of ppl dancing and shakin´ their asses.... he´s a hell of a good dj!!!

YES YES YES!!!!!
Ppl dancing, shakin´ their asses and with a big smile!!! That´s what I like.

About Bob, his groovy stuff is not my cup of tea, but certainly one of the best brazilian dj.

I hope I can go to Chaishop party to satisfy my desire of a good progressive set...

Man... Bob´s stuff is not my cup of tea also... but, really...he played some really different music... he called it full on  minimal (vai entender, né?..hehehe)...

Real fresh sounds... I´d say that this was the 1st time I LOVED him playing...

Things are changing on this crazy world we live;)

WOW!!!! Minimal full on???? Maybe it´s exactly what i want to hear!!!! I don´t know if that´s what he played, but was some fast minimal with some fat basses and nice snares and some "claps"?
If so, DAMMIT!!! If not, still searching...

I said full on minimal ´cause that´s what he told me... he was joking, off course, but it was some very uplifting shit;)

Don't badmouth progressive before people start getting ugly on full-on here (it's much easier too :)). No PLUR in that.

Progressive parties: Higher average music quality, easier to dance, once you get into the groove/trance it's hard (and nobody wants to) come out, and mixing is a lot smoother in average.

Full-on parties: Power, melodies, insanity. A few REALLY mind-blowing tracks and usually a very smooth transition from night to morning.

It's really about tastes, even though IMO most (not all, don't push words into my mouth :)) of the quality production in Europe (not Australia or Brazil :)) is moving towards progressive.

Totally agree with u Asaf. That's what got me into progressive music. I do believe that most quality production is going the progressive side, even in Israel (take Cosma for example, widely acclaimed best album of the year - right here on the blue room). As for Brazil, i would say that the move towards better progressive - be it DJs, parties, or producers - is only a matter of time. I don't think that the style of music has anything to do with the weather, i think it's a natural evolution. And, no, those who prefer progressive-groovy music are not more enlightened than those who prefer full on...we are just more relaxed ;-)
Btw, i would have loved to hear this Bob set...but i was in Hong Kong :-)
And Thiago, i don't own the thread, change the subject as much as u want bro!
