nice festival , nice ppl, nice weather, good acts, precise organising, we had a great time in portugal, meet with nice portuguese ppl also. Thanx to giving me a change to play.

Great Freedom Festival edition.
So many nice ppl, lots of sun, good environments, lot of bathrooms, showers,
really cool decorations and chill out, good restaurants, nice shops, etc.
Only some bad things to point out: IN THE LAST DAY
AFTER THE LAST NIGHT OF SOUND THERE WAS NO WATER IN THE SHOWERS IN THAT MORNING
, AND NO WATER IN THE DEPOSITS TOO, AND THE ORG DIDNT SOLVE THAT (SOMEKIND OF IRRESPONSABILITY AND IMATURITY)...IN THE FIRST DAYS EVERYTHING GOES FINE, AND IN THE LAST DAYS NOTHING?? WHY??
PPL WILL TRAVEL AFTER THE FESTIVAL END, AND NO WATER NO NOTHING?
YOU HAVE TO DO IT
WELL FOR ALL THE DAYS DUDES, NOT ONLY
FOR THE FIRST DAYS OF THE FESTIVAL.
YOU SHOULD IMPRESS ALLWAYS THE CROWD DUDES! LIKE BOOM TEAM DOES!
WE DESERVE IT, AND IF YOU DO IT WELL, WE WILL ALL BE THERE IN 2009.
Sorry for write it in caps lock, but its good for org ppl see this, to try to improve next edition. (:
I know they will.
A note for the security teams too...its to bad see security guys selling many many drugs in the festival.Its like serious mafia!
A security team have to be discret, and not drug dealers.
I know some ppl from other countries that were a bit surprised when some security guy near the dancefloor bar turns to him and ask...do you want some coke or speed?..acid?
About the music, i can say that Olive Tree the band
from Porto did great start to the festival (best act without any doubt) with pure acoustic trance feeling.
Then some acts i like some i dont.
Favourite psy trance "live acts":SHIFT, ALEX TOLSTEY dj set, ACEVENTURA, TICON, PSYCRAFT, and congratulations to XP VOODOO dj set for his outstanding performance.
It reminds me the way of Tsuyoshi Suzuki set in the end of BOOM2006.
Was great for ending a festival like this, and Paul Taylor did it well too.

See you around Portugal next year

i saw psynema visuals at last years sonnenklang in austria and that was not so impressive like freedom... but this was incredible!!!

in my opinion it was a great festival only because of the people there, so many friends and nice people. but it's still very very VERY far from the quality of boom festival, for sure!!
the conditions weren't that good, not enough water, very dirty lake, etc etc
the music was also not to my taste at all. it's really funny to see people saying that the music at night was dark psytrance. i was there every night and didn't listen to one single dark artist. i mean, shift, azax syndrom, absolum are dark????? my god. that was a big failure imo. how i missed boom nights with gow, derango, zik... that was good music
so as for the music i only really really enjoyed some progressive artists like goetz, ace ventura and beckers (ticon was a big disappointment to me). i also liked astrix (great live act all full of party hits), dino psaras, xerox&illumination and paul taylor in the end, great energy. i really disliked eskimo and vibe tribe, i really hate that kind of music they make. even skazi was better hehe. i would really like to have seen the electro day at the chill out but it didn't have much shades so i just stayed at the dancefloor seeing talamasca which i didn't like that much.
well overall i can say that great people + not so great music = still great fun

I was really hoping to make it to this and wasn't able to but from what I'm reading it looks like the negative energy is carrying over from the festival onto the forum. I hope everyone was able to make thier experience into a somewhat positive one but this festival is going to have a bad rep. and bad energy for a bit. Poor organization, hospital visits and a death brings leaves some pretty bad mojo not just on the land but on the people, especially the friends and family of the deceased woman.
Also curious as to why everyone keeps comparing this to Boom? Was it a colaboration? Competition? Was it because it was in the same country? Just curious....
Hope everyone can move past this and that the same mistakes won't be made again. Peace. |
