Well when i arrived at freedom 2 years ago the place was full of trash, me and some friends collected all in our area before setting up camp. Some people that stayed and worked at the festival said that the festival area was cleanned, and that it was cleanner than when the festival started. This brings a question, withc is: the regular visitors from Spain and Portugal during the year make more damage during 360 days than the festival in 5???
Hard to know, but what i do know and i asked the locals about this, and the answer was that there isnt anibody cleaning the place all trought the year.
Im not triyng the defend the organizers because 2 years ago many things didn work out for the festival, im just giving the benefit of the dout.
Make the Freedoom in Almeirim is the best place to do the festival.... the best place in Portugal!!!!
Or in Caia. The best is kill all the birds in the area and it´s finish.
I try to buy the ticket and tell me it´s better wait for the local confirmation because the festival don´t have lisence.
All of this for a band of birds....

incredible informations. but for sure it is tru that most of the festivals happens in a national parks. If this problem is so big, why
jmsgredos and zé cabra better than trance collect some friends and make a campaign to collect the trash in this area? i would help if i wont live 3000 kilometers from the destination...

- 2005 first fredoom festival on Caia; nobody on local know's about it, only on festival day´s with surprise saw thousant´s of people;
- 2006 ecologist´s and local comunity, by the word´s of first´s, know´s the date for de second edition of festival on summer 2007;
- ecologist´s alert of breaking the law of festival on albufeira do Caia, cause is a natural space protected by comunity directive law´s, that autorieties on 2005 forgot...!
- the autorities had reunion with ecologit´s to see the problem, and autorities are not upper de law!
- ecologist´s had a reunion with organization of freedom festival in a local town called Campo Maior, and show their position is not a personal question or economic question, but a question of protecting natural values, cause festival damage.
- the organization start selling ticket´s before festival is legal, that is no responsability!
- autorities ask information to a governamental ICN institute for festival, and everything seems that will be negative information.
- now in Portugal public autorities are alway´s under suspect, than the mayor realy don´t want´a risk;
- parlament of governement Portuguese republic made a public solicitation to mayor of what he will be to respect the law on this case;
- ecologist´s will made new action´s to protect the mother nature, like tv, radio and paper´s conference on festival local, asking for mayor responsability, and using the court´s mecanism if necessary,
- ecologist´s are:

for everyone we respect festival but on other place, and we received the freedom organization on GEDA´s house, and we had showed the face!
we believe that festival will not take place on Caia, and selling ticket´s without license for festival, it´s a really comercial actitute!
that´s the confusion MoWGLi, organization started the thing´s before of all legal thing´s cause it´s a question of money!

stop ruining something meant to be fun.. you have no material evidence, just your pathetic photos of what looks like mild amounts of litter, while those who were at freedom festival can attest to the fact the area looks like that permanently, and is not the fault of the organisers. show us links to the newspaper articles you refer to, show us something.. but don't ramble inane crap in broken english at people who, while they care about your intentions, aren't going to believe you based on what you have given us thus far.
