In case you dont what tinittus is.. basically its a constant ringing in your ears either caused by sound injuries or whatever other reasons which i dont know..heh(not sound related)
All i know mine was caused by a sound injury(exposed to loud music) a year ago...so what i am asking is : does anyone else has this problem or is it just me...and if u do how do you cope with it? has it affected your party going habbits? i know for sure i cant attend a party until 2 weeks after the party have passed just so my ears get some rest.

I have "level 1", I think there are levels 1 to 3. Lvl 1 is when you only hear it when it's quiet and lvl 3 when you hear it all the time...

I always use ear protection (those "puffs", what's the word?) but I may take them out if the music is too low           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

You know you can easily get rid of it..
I heard about this way of healing it. Basicly you learn that it doesn't exist.. after a few months you don't notice it any longer... dunno if it works..

I don't have it.. thank god           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

A thing that I heard work is rub your ears for about a minute. Then it just disappears. I had a really irritating (but temporary) high sound in my ears once, and this worked for me... I also heard you can get rid of it with acupuncture, if you wanna try that...           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

@traveller u dont get rid of it.. u just get used to it, i think the word is habituate or something.

Anyhow for me the first 3-4 months it was HELL , i couldnt sleep at nights and was always distracting me , now i dont notice it at all(well most of the time).
What sucks is the fact that i have to wear plugs and cant stay for long hours in a party
Those of u that dont have it at least try to AVOID getting it

once you get used to it, you don't notice it any longer, you don't know the problem even exists any longer.. isn't that getting rid of it? I know what you mean.. you can't "heal" is physically           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

I've got a recurring tinnitus since the age of 6, but it's been pretty rare, as it is quite a dim din..           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

aloah digital roof...

tinnitus CAN be psychologic ( most not so heavy ones are, --> mainly caused through stress or depression ) and so it s possible to cure it.
but if u listened all the time to loud noise...it could be physical too.

wow, what a great topic...
i often worry about developing tinittus, especially since i wear headphones a lot of the time. if i have them on for an extended period of time, i get a very slight ringing in my ears but it usually goes away after a little while. i try not to turn my headphones up too loud if i can help it, but if i am mixing records/cds it is a little difficult to hear my pfl cue over my monitors without turning it up a bit, otherwise certain frequencies get drowed out..
my biggest concern is that tinittus is cumulative, since i have talked to older people that now have it who say that they never had any serious problems when they were younger, but when they got older (into middle-age) it became much more noticeable. i know that there are medications available for sufferers of advanced tinittus, but at that point it seems that it is already too late..           michael

i'm really afraid of this...i heard it can lead to mental problems, it can make u going "crazy".

but as much of physical injuries tinitus can be ignored, and healed, in a way.

i always use earplugs, i dont go to small clubs where the music is really concentrated, at home i'm listening in mid-volume. cheers           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

My dad has it from being in anti aircraft missile batteries for years.... i stood by mistake once on a tank that fired w/out ear protection and i had it for a week, along with being unbalanced and throwing up every day all day           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."
