I know plenty of old goa heads who are more than open minded enough to enjoy the higher bpms.

I mean, I find current prog and full on much more offensive to my ears but you do not see me carrying on about it like teenager like Mr Ocelot.

I'm not saying you have to like it, by it exists so why not accept it and leave it alone? It doesn't hurt anybody, it isn't ruining the scene and to make it sound good takes a lot of skill actually.

If you don't like it there is plenty of other styles released almost daily for free or cost in this scene.           Cuntus Maximus.

I dont get this BPM debate..What poeple like is personal like everything else in life.

For me 180 or 185 is the perfect BPM - Because the bassline get a springy effect it gives me the feeling/illusion of something very powerfull and fast.

So for me its like a trip on rocket through space and 150 bpm is like running or driving a bike

The amount of energy i gain is therefor 10 times higher on fast stuff and slow BPM never gets me going on the same level (of the devil).

In the start 10 years ago i perfered listening to 148 bpm but now 180 hits the spot.

( and yes there is of course alot of very bad fast stuff out there ).

I'm a fan of the Noise Poison selection, heard Highko spin some label music a couple of years ago and it just sounded like the next step in the evolution of psytrance both production and vibe wise, paled out even the Discovalley and Parvati crew.

On the other heard a lot of high BPM stuff otherwise and it just didn't do it for me, felt like the artist was just trying to do it for the sake of being hip.

I think that sound works if you understand that realm of sound, it's not just pitching up the BPM.

It's good for a party to have one or two high BPM specialists, deep into the night experience is when this stuff works best, same goes with the forest sounds, one or two acts are a must, but come morning you really need to slow down, and put a bit of melody into it otherwise it just feels like too much of one thing.

Like psymartin says there is a lot of bad high BPM stuff out there, so don't diss it til you've had proper experience.

Definitely some crap out there, and stuff like Osom & Psykovsky I find great at home/headphones but do understand it's not real dancefloor material.

On the dancefloor I'd love to see Insector. He's two albums on Kamino are the best high BPM I've heard to date. The amount of tone & melody makes it really good.

Need to get the new Noise Poison releases via Psymarket. Looks quality.           Cuntus Maximus.

God only knows that EDM in general needs a few game changers, nothing truly original has come out in years.

There's lots of quality but nothing original.

Man, you need assistance.

Your posts are a total paradox, don't you notice that you're being ten times more close minded than Ocelot? He was careless at opening this topic, you're just pushing the bar very high.

Originality is in many aspects as subjective as the capacity to enjoy high bpm tracks.

Making statements like that about something much, much wider that psytrance, which is EDM, clearly shows your lack of proper judgment, specially when it is likely that you probably never heard even 10% of the representative work in the EDM field. It is possible there are whole sub-genres you never heard about. Remember that the underground is W I D E and not well known.

Back to topic:
I trust the kids to do not stop anytime soon. Let then go further, let them play in the wild. If they ever bring something or their-selves back it will be worth it. (also I don't have to be in the same party as them )

Here is another analysis: trying to disqualify my comments won't make them any less true.

Do yourself a favor and stop being Mister "I own such a big collection (but I'm too cool for it so I had to donate more than half of it) and I know so much about this scene, that I can go topic to topic trashing people and making empty and contradictory statements while making believe they're true, and if anyone points it out I can get out of it by making fun of him".

Go get professional help (or maybe a life).

No. It's too much fun stirring shit here.

I don't own a single psy trance or goa trance release. I think this entire seen is the biggest piece of shit ever invented. I mean seriously? You actually enjoy this dirty ducking disgusting hippy shit run by useless counts who probably don't have the IQ level to do up Velcro shoes?

I mean seriously.

It's just been the easiest place to troll for wary reactions.

And? Again it was written purely to get a reaction. And it has.

You see nothing about me online is true. I'm not a Mike. I'm not a Leatherface. I'm not a Mike D or any of those. I'm not a male even.

You see years ago there was this guy who was actually pretty cool on psynews. Mike D or some shit.

He fell out with the Australian psy scene including a big time fall out with me, so I decided that I'd dedicated my life to ruining his globally in this scene.

And it's worked & it'll keep working.

Mike D? Last I heard he happily moved on from anything to do with this scene and is living a great life with a gorgeous wife, kids and a very expensive house he worked hard for.

The last thing on his mind is this scene or me.

I'm just happily fucking his arse in this scene over and over and over again.

and dont forget that aaron has an axe to grind
its no secret he feels that he has lost bookings or been "pressured out" of bookings
apparently by "high bpm kiddies"

which of course colors his end of the discussion considerably

ive been hooked on psy since 93 and i dig some of the high bpm stuff
that being said it seems like a lot of high bpm tracks are made for speeds sake
speed does not automatically equal great shit as many people seem to think

but other than that all genres has huge loads of crap so searching for the golden nuggets is the challenge as usual           Smile! Tomorrow will be worse :)
