i dont like agressive trance or music at all, but especialy psy trance that was kinda optimic and non agressive the years i was hooked on then.. nowdays i prefer soft and optimic progressive psy and some not son social wicked tech house so where they meet its became a truly special mixture..           Believe your soul !

Some artists convey a dark or agressive
feeling quite well but some try too hard and just sound cheesy and noisy.
Xenomorph's first album had some good tracks
dark but not too noisy. Cydonia, Tim Schuldt, The Delta come too mind.
I was way more into that stuf before 2000 which I think was due to the collective pre-millenium tension. Apocolyptic music seemed to fit the times.
Then there was more techno influenced trance Midi Miliz, Authentic, Delta, which wasn't dark from melody but from the agressive crunchy beats with some eerie atmospheres.

It's all still Dance music, I mean
how agressive can you be If you are still dancing? It's not a Hardcore Death Metal moshpit kind of agressive, although
I've been at hardcore techno/gabber parties where there is a pit.

Do WE need all this agressive music?

Well...I don't....dunno about the others....

But as some ppl mentioned, agressive can be many things.

If you talk about things such as chemical crew, its definetelly not my cup of tea....

But for example, someone put 3d vision and others in this style in the same group, but thats not what I would call agressive, or I wouldn't call melodic full on agressive music.

For me agressive is dark music, wich is nice sometimes, but for me personally, I don't need it. I think its more for the ppl that are also or come from a heavy metal background, I understand why these ppl enjoy it and like more this type of music.

I'm not really into it, since I've never been very much into heavy metal and such types of music, but I've got no problems about it, I just prefer the happy side of psytrance

But I do agree that a 3 hour session of crazy night dancing to some agressive dark tunes can be the best therapy for releasing some blocked tensions

in my opinion good nigth music that make us dance.. close the eyes and travel all nigth until day.. its good.. nigth but psychedelic.. but i see lots off people doing "darck music" thats just noise.. too mutch confusion on the brain.. everione with some samplers and taking lots off drugs can do that kind off music...for me dont have any sense and no production..
in terms off pshycho acustic trance music its for happyness.. you can have nigth music with lots off power..with happy faces... but like in everithing i like one thing you like another.. if you like some twisted music.. its your taste we have to respect that.. for an exe.. i dont like parasense (its the most popular).. but lots off people enjoy it.. its good production?
but in the other side are some "morning music" that we listen to it one time its cool.. but 2nd time the exess off melodies make me tired.. i call it poptrance.. its growing up to...
peopl that do a track or 2 per day... what we can expect.. dont pay atencion to the details.. but the good productions are full of details...
so just my opinion.. stay well people           Hatha yoga, body and mind balanced...

its not aggresive imo but fast and loud and thats good ,but if this is called aggressive then yes we do need and mild moments in between ..........            To focus sometimes you need to spin hard on your soul's axis..... just don't ask how and what it means ;)

personally i like tracks that create really dark evilish "aggressive" atmospheres and then with a break the whole atmosphere turns bright .......... listen to nissimyanis "peyote" to get what iam sayin........its like a trip where ur in a dark room and then all of a sudden rays of light flash in and the dark room turns into a paradise.........and i guess since i listen to a lot of death metal it dosent make a diff. to me           New mixes on

Off course you donīt need such agressive music. I know I donīt need it. But maybe there are people who need it, or better said, who like it.

If that's not your case you have one simple and effective solution: donīt listen to it and donīt go to parties where you know it is going to be played. That's what I do. I pay as much attention to releases by chemical crew, gms and its clones, russian trance, and most full-on coming out of Israel as I pay to Britney, Enrique iglesias or country music. Not saying that all above is agressive music to me. Some of it is, some of it I just simply donīt like. But the world of trance is, imho, open-minded and expression free. So donīt be so upset if someone is making / listening to music you donīt connect to. You have lots of alternatives..

YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE!!!!!

Happy-fluffy-uplifting music is for happy-fluffy-uplifted people. Everyone has that side to them, but like in everything, music you like is a reflection of who you really are, and I don't think people are 100% happy-fluffy all the time. If you want to release all your agression, all the negativity inside you, there is nothing like flowing with some dark agressive droning. When I want to truely be happy, I have to release some of that negative energy that also sneaks up and catches me... when you want to enjoy soft and fluffy music, you better get rid of all your agression prior to that. There are ways to do this without agressive music, and that's why we see so many people munching E like it's candy, and I can understand them, but that's not for me.

After a harsh techno night I will really enjoy some bouncy happy prog, but if you give me bouncy and happy prog straight up, I'll just feel like the DJ is a bloody wanker.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

kaz is right, i find myself more fluffy then happy and sometimes more happy then fluffy... never happy-fluffy or fluffy-happy... maybe i was happy-fluffy once for about 17 minutes back a few years ago, but nobody asked me how i was, so i never got to tell them that im happy-fluffy.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

I agree with Kaz here. Also, and I've said that before, if you want happy melodic music listen to the new progressive melodic underground trance being DJ'ed by the likes of Markus Schulz etc. But most people here have their eyes closed to the rest of the trance scene, while there is so much good music to be discovered out there...           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. In answer to the original question, we need this music because a hell of a lot of people love it.           Just remember.... in Hell.... there will be doof....

I totally agree with BrettFromTibet,

I used to like night time psy trance releases and some of it was dark (remember semsis?) but it was not violent music....

...the music played nowadays at a lot of parties at night is too hard in terms of bpms and noise pollution...I will not judge its music quality but for sure it is very agressive music...no wonder you see people freaking out turning the parties into this awful psychiatric scenery...IMO parties are to have good fun, dance, smile and communicate with other people

...it is not a matter between dark and morning fluffy...the thing is -that what is considered to be night-time trance music by many people has evolved into something ugly and violent with bad side effects to people...
