I completely agree with HandA…
These names do not belong in our scene, our scene should encourage positive-thinking not Satan-worshipping.
Some of you have a romanticized notion of what being a Satanist actually involves. Don’t think that you can compare it to being a witch (which is actually a beautiful religion), or a member of some pagan-religion (like the Nordic religion) for instance, being a Satanist means that you worship evil, promote darkness and fear. You let your emotions take over; fear, frustration, lust and anger, no clarity of mind.
Consider this phrase: “In the darkness the light is brighter, but in the light there is no darkness”.
It’s easier and more tempting to choose evil (darkness), but personally I don’t understand why you would choose to worship evil when the alternative is good.
Psychedelics can be used for good and evil, just like magic (black magic, Evil-Voodoo-magic etc.)  , it’s the way you use them.

Psy-parties are about (or at least used to be) elevating people’s consciousness, sharing, loving and good vibrations, which is in perfect balance with Jesus most important notion which is LOVE.

Its good to know that a bunch of people who dont know jack shit about satanism are here to teach us about it.
I dont believe in a man living under the ground, and I dont live a life based on "fear, frustration, lust and anger, no clarity of mind.", in fact I try to do quite the opposite, but somehow, when I pop in the latest Xenomorph track, the devil doesn't pop out of my speakers and my life doesnt sidetrack.
I think people just dont appereciate this kind of music, which is OK, but since they're fascist assholes, they have to come up with demented reasons of why this sort of music "doesn't belong in our scene". Just let it go, chill out, if you dont like it dont spoil the party for other people, no one forces you to listen to dark music, they're are plenty of parties which play cheesy full on all day/night.
Edit : just listened to Psyfactors "Hell Raver", am I a devilworshipper now because I thought it was a pretty nice track? Who gives a fuck what its called, language is our master, words have eternal meaning but not the kind that can be described in other words.
We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home. |

You misread what I wrote my friend, I didn’t say that listening to dark-psy made you a Satanist; I tried to explain what evil is, what Satan worshipping is all about. I don’t approve of evil that’s why I don’t like those names.

Well, influenced by the black forces or satanism or however you want to call these things....one thing is for sure.... The intangible asset of this scene is based on some values that are completely different from the ones that the dark music wants to promote.
Ofcourse, I understand that everything in this life is in a constant evolution but, i can hardly believe that the "dark" scene will be able to stand on its own because lacks of real values.
Everybody can argue about the music and the artists, but fortunatelly nobody can argue on the core values of the "goa-scene".
In this I agree with Mr. HandA, and I am surprised when last months I search on the e-shops and I see titles that transmit so much negativity. Ofcourse a tittle is not the track itself but the trend of now is to be as much darker because in this way you will be the most undergound guy or gal of this scene....but obviously is not in this way....(fortunately)..
By saying this, I would like to make everybody to reflect on this topic and try to envision the future of this scene....

As a musician / producer myself I am well aware that music effects ppl, especially in a scene so closely involved with psychedelics. So coming from this point of view, as positive psy effects ppl in a positive way, so in the same fashion negative / agressive / violent sampling, usage of screams from horror movies etc., effects the crowd in a negative way.
I do believe that a trance track is a little more than 8 minutes of something with steady rhythm. There are messages and state of mind that are transferred thru the music, like it or dont it is a fact.
And about bright side vs dark side.. I know a little about that since this subject is part of my studies, and those that disregard the evil quoting in tracks and horror samples as merely a joke and 'fun' do a bit of underestimation.
But a little thing I have learned is that ppl should learn from their mistakes, they usually wont learn from other's mistakes, never mind how hard one will try to explain.

Satan/The Devil/Fallen Angel Lucifer whatever you want to call it, is a construct of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic belief system. Good and evil are the flip side of the same coin, and what constitutes either is dependant on your viewpoint and belief system.

A bit of darkness is therapeutic and should be prescribed for everyone. If you listen to happy jolly stuff all the time, all the anger and sadness that exists inside you will never find a way out and in the end you're just going to end up old and bitter.

btw, who are these "satanists" you're talking about? Anton LaVey? or maybe Ozzy?
From what I understand, a reversed Pentagram symbolizes the power of the individual over the cosmos - balancing itself on the single point. The right-side up pentagram is the power of the cosmos over the individual. Two polar opposites, in a way, but in no way are they "satanist" or "christian" or anything of the sort. There is nothing inherently evil in the reversed pentagram - it's lucky that someone in the church noticed the "horns of the devil" in it, and proclaimed the individual-power symbol "satanist."
