I love the reviews of a guy writing on trance.net - He's honest and if an alum is crap he admits it!
CHAPTER CLOSED!
BOM.

Yes, PKS from trance.net has the best reviews online, just my opinion.

ok..

i dont think any and i mean ANY artist should ever bitch about having a DJ play their music for them , whether it is RIPPED, MP3 or whatever, i mean what the fuck...YOU AS AN ARTIST ARE GETTING EXPOSURE...be thankful that the dj is even playing your music and not some other dudes tunes...its simple...people hear your tunes at party ...people want your tunes, people buy your tunes....SO THANK THE DJ, you all are trying to argue that this is a business balh dee blah, whatever , i mean FREE ADVERTISING< ...if you were any artist, and you want to be well known , then let the dj's play your music for free, LET THEM EXPOSE YOU to the audience.....

and lets take this one further, half the "artists" out there are using cracked software....did they pay the designers of that software,...who made it possible for them to even make that music....so lets all not get too carried away with all of this...just do the numbers for a decent setup with all those softsynths and plugins....and if you dont have those as originals....dont bitch a shit about ppl downloading mp3's or dj's using them....once your legal...then maybe you can worry about other ppl being legal, but i still beleive that no artist should ever worry about a dj playing their tunes and not having bought the albumn.....

the other point of discussion...MP3 vs Wave

yea there is a difference , but doubt half of you could ever tell the difference, thats the fucking joke, i bet you all stand there wondering while your stomping away whether its mp3 or wave being played....think about that next time your tripping on your drugs or stomping away......

this is such a joke!

Trapp, i think u've ended the discussion, that is soooooooooooooooooo true. Before talking about original cds lets talk about original VSTs, hahahahaha.           "There is a thin line between drug using and drug abusing, and to see it is very tricky."

Trapp: It isn't exposure if the crowd doesn't know what you are playing and 99.9% of the time, 99.9% of the crowd doesn't know. (Unless they allready know the tracks in which case it doesn't matter anyway).

And how do you know what artists are or arn't using? I have tens of thousands of euro invested in my studio both in hardware and software. Please don't assume things because it might turn out you are wrong.

As far as mp3 vs wave, I agree. Hardly anybody can tell the difference between a well encoded and decoded mp3 on a typicall PA sound system.

Most people say that mp3s sound bad because they are either 1) Parroting everyone else. 2) They think it makes them seem cool. 3) They don't know how to encode/decode mp3s 4) they listen to mp3s through cheap consumer sound cards. 5) They are influenced by their preconsceived ideas and wouldn't recognise a scientific double blind test if it hit them in the face.

(Note that I am not saying anything about ethics. That is a different issue).

One comment to the people cheering the news flash: Assuming this is a real story, who do you think gets the money from the fine? Probably not the artists and certainly not any psytrance artists.

BOOM BOOM BOOM TRAPP!

You're absolutley right:
* I use mp3s to dj
* I use cracked software to produce

Hahhaahha!
Imagine this:you are playing at a party & the artist who produced the track you're playing comes up to you to see if it is original or mp3.You tell him it's mp3 and he tells you to stop playing it and to throw away the cd or calls the Italian police!
YEAH RIGHT!

why are u aganist mp3? u can't hear the difference between 320kbps and wav anyway           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

i know quite a few actually.....dont assume shit about what i know or dont know

most up and coming guys are using cracks, and from what i read in the production forum here, pretty much most of the ppl on here are using cracks, i myself, have access to original stuff and some pretty neat hardware, but i have used my fair share of cracked stuff, and i promise you when i eventually get stuff out there and if any dj plays my stuff, and if it was ripped, would be fine for me, i wouldnt mind

if i was at a party and i heard my tune, and went to the dj box to check it out and if i saw he was playing an mp3 or copy, i would organise for the dude to get an original from me for free...

as far as the exposure issue goes i still think by having your music played irrespective of whether ppl know what it is or not, it will be subconsicously entrecnhed within them and it will help you in the future as an artist.

if you wana read more about Pirate tune vs Cracked Software also check this

@ TRapp
hear hear brother
i respect the need of the artist to make a living off the work he has done but thats why he gets paid for the LIVE gigs and the DJ sets he does
The albums are purely exposure to get the crowd in when you play so music piracy is in effect a way of advertising your music on a massive level
think about it
Youre reaching an audience you never could've reached before and people can listen to artists they normally wouldnt because theyre downloading them
So i think the artists should just relax a little about this mp3 story and just think about the exposure you're getting and not focus on the 2c you're loosing ...
