DJ`s who cant mix!

thats still no excuse....
whats the point of having a club type dj who cant mix, with respect to some of our commercial DJS... personality>? the records they play? the way they order the tracks? none of these apply to dave pearce.. hes and idiot, the epitomy of commercial crappy dance music, the pitome of the whole mainstream thing i hate....so are most of our commercial DJS, like judge jules, pete tong, lisa pin up,etc.
the redeeming feature of most of these is that they can actually mix quite well (well, some of them can... lisa pin up is nothing exceptional)
but i dont really know whats it like for you in israel. all the psytrance DJs ive heard here have been bloody good, but then perhaps here with the psytrance scene not being as well known as in israel, there isnt such a demand, and so clubs tend to pick good DJS- perhaops this is the logic behind the problem. afterall, here, big name clubs still allow prats like pearce behind the decks, even though he kind mix remotely well |

we have crappy DJ's as well. i think that the problem with europe is the musical style DJ's pick to mix. so many tracks are so un-connectable and thus the mixing falters. as to the Judge, I heard him play a set and he IS bloody good, but at his own style. England is more of a d.n.b, house and techno nation, rather than psytrance, though it's gaining popularity in the underground sense.. |
