i should say first that I prefer single genre events (aka all downtempo, all psy, all hardcore, etc) but almost all the Psyowans were ravers at some point and think we have done pretty okay. I was a raver and still am (among other fun titles such as trancer, artist, burner, community engineer), what can I say I collect them

I appreciate when promoters try to include everyone to satisfy most, that is quite an undertaking!

Thanx to YBB and TDC for such a wonderful Event! I had a great time seeing all my killer family friends and chilling at the beautiful location!
Although I just arrived on Sat and stayed for a night, Ihad killer time dancing to GOW, Yab Yum, Jellyheadz, Parus, Melorix! All the sets were very strong and sound was really nice!
Keep On with making this killer events!
Boom to All!
Peace.

When I brought up the point that I promoted, that was a fruitless avenue as well....the courteous guy that was explaining these things sold me a ticket at $120. It was an extenuating circumstance but that's how the at the gate cost was cheaper.

Hey, that's not too bad. Promoting for their club events in nyc would get you $5 off the full price ticket at the door, which was less discount than buying a presale ticket offered.

Since when YBB started they were more or less unaware of the native trance community its understandable that they made some political and economic blunders in the planning of their early events. Perhaps they had problems before with freeloaders at parties they organized in other places, and were assuming to find the same here in the US? All done with good intentions, and no harm done.

I'm glad to hear they are continuing to earnestly improve their standing & goodwill in their non-native (but home) tribe. Building respectful, reciprocal relationships with the people that lend their time and sweat is the surest way for a collective to thrive.

My opinion on the noise complaints - PBell Sound did a great job, but there was just way too much PA. Half that PA or even less would have been just fine. They might just have ruined future events at this great location. Just my 2 cents. Peace out!

I was just thinking about this tonight. The sound was good, but WAY too loud at times, and that was just the main stage. Two other "official" stages were pumping sound - the renegade and rata stages - of which the rata's sound was unbearably loud. On top of this, there was another sound system going 24 hrs at a coffee shop on the road between stages, and everyone and their brother playing their own music from cars or personal stereos or whatever. I can understand why neighbors 8 miles away could hear the music loud enough that it disrupted their sleep. The amount of sound coming from so many different directions was completely unacceptable.

@Orgs...

You should talk with the people who throw Symbiosis...

They have this multi-genre thing figured out...

I feel like the different styles of music you have could be as far apart in the spectrum as you could imagine, as long as the crowd that's drawn is open minded. That's the key. We've played our live set at places where the people were NOT open minded, and it went completely over their heads. But I suppose itt's all been said, so, looking forward to next year!           www.dants.net
