well, deep trance may be psychedelic or not at all. its about deepness, as deeper as better.
sure you know some deep trance. atmos remember ?? antix ?? also alot more "psy" deep artists. sonic cube album as a latest example.
but you also have a army of non psy deep trance artists like matthew dekay, sasha etc.

I suppose its open to debate? 'Deep trance' is the term I use to refer to artists like Human Blue and Vibrasphere... and for it to be trance, I have to hear a melody in there!
I might be in the minority here, but I don't mean 'progressive' when I say 'deep trance'... that's just one human's opinion

So Chaos Theory ... soon you will know what means deep Trance.
Just get into music! Try to find out which places of your body will be touch by different kinds of music.
For sure deep is a feeling, it spreats a warm and very possitive vibration and be sure it will touch your heart and your soul.
This feeling is much more different from what you get if you listen to faster and more crazzy music.
Deep Trance is for sure much more grownd up and it has more intelligence.
Check out the names which Zombie and Basiliks gaves you and you will get a good view about what deep trance can be!

I am very clueless about subgenre terminology, cos I have no idea if this officially files under "Deep Trance". However, I would personally consider the adjective "deep" to be appropriate.

i wouldnt call etnoscope deep...not as deep as it can get at least. some deep stuff is also coming from cujorious one, genetic spin, to name two of strict rhytm music. stuff from plusquam rec is usually deep so check out their two latest compilations.
native radio - chiba city blues got some deep applies too

for sure those acts are not "deep trance"
deep trance is more than only minimal and slow - the most important face to be deep trance is "soul". The music needs soul and a big portion of possitive feelings. |

Apart from those artists mentioned here, also try some old german trance from 1992/1993, hathouse style.
Try Age of Love - "The Age of Love" or Jam&Spoon "Stella"
also try the older CassvsSlide stuff, everything that came before their album "burning the candle at both ends", like their remixes of Deepsky "Jarreth's Church" or Bus "Bullet". As deep as it gets!!!
