Blood is one of the less deep tracks of the cd it has totall progressive-trance elements i think , kinda tegma/vibrasphere style
the scandinavian typical sound , which is very cool indeed .           I'm The Superviz'a Can I Get The Taxi Numbah?!

I think it's a matter of how you "see" music as deep.

When I think about deep trance or deep music in general I think about deep pumbing basslines and also athmospheric soundscapes and of course it have to have a nice grooveness to it. In the same note I think, and of course it's my interpretation of the word "deep", that bands/artists like Kryger&Coyle, Vision & Canedy ect. are more tribal or should I say rhythm-oriented than the deep acts which I feel are concentrating more on the "deep" aspect in their sound. Just take bands like Phony Orphants... I will say they are quite deep and so are other bands in the same category like Antix ect. ect.

But of course music can also be deep in other ways... "Deep" because it hit something in you "deep" inside or because the track makes you get into a "deep" trance state of mind

Yes you're right Christian. A list will be to take it too far

I think Groove Express is in between the deep trance and more rhythm oriented trance (tribal)... It live it's own life

actualy i think about Groove Express as prog tech-trance, at least the two of three released trax (remix for a mars attack and swimming pool). Kruger and Coyle are sure tribal and not deep at all, but Vision and Canedy have this kind of bass that never end and whole atmosphere very deep, for me.           Believe your soul !

i guess the deepness is all in your mind, it has to be hypnotic, that can be done through tribal patterns or atmospheric sounds.

Anyway, i'd call Swimming Pool deep, but not as in tunnel deep, more like under the skin deep.           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

Depends on which tracks of theirs you are talking about...look at their latest on Avalanche. "No Parlez" is to me one of the deepest tracks I have heard all year. Low hypnotic pumping bass, very slowly developing, subtle darkness....this track really is damn near the prototype of "deep psychedelia" for me if I've ever heard it.

But flip 'er over and "Balanced" is about as far away from deep (or tribal) as disco is. There are very few artists that stick with a deep style....some just wander around that area occasionally stumbling on it.

The ones that purposely go for the deep sound often fall prey to sounding boring and pretentious. Check out some of the 10-minute Moshic & Zidan or Deep Amok tracks. Fuggin' yawners. They try too hard to be deep and end up putting the dancefloor to sleep. The only producer I've heard who consistently pull off that style and keeps it interesting is Nukem.

Also, I don't consider deep & tribal to be mutually exclusive - for me they very often go hand in hand. Listen to some Piliavin & Zimbardo (esp. "Voodoo Juice"). Tribal as a South American jungle and deep as a Leonard Cohen 45 played on 33.

This is just to me, though.

well, i dunno whether we ever achieve anything with these semantic arguments.. somebody say "x is deep for such and such a reason" somebody else say "no no no.. that is not deep that is (insert genre here )" seeing as there is no dictionary where it defines once and for all what styles sound like what.. each to their own basically... personally i am wanting to anything deep/tech/prog these days and i don;t really know what these terms _mean_ its like the famous jazzman once said when asked "what is jazz?" "if you have to ask you'll never know"           >>love will tear us apart...<<
