advertising has a big price and thsi moment nobody can do this
the mushroom takes this moment 1000 euro for
a site.
so when you sell 1000 units you have to give 1 euro each only to the mushroom and who is reading the mushroom in israel.
from the first 1000 units you make no money about the break even for a release is around 1000units without promotion.so this moment is for no label a way to make big promotion.
when you sent cds before release out you can
be sure that it is free to download inside day
i know this about we had this problem.
so one problem comes to the other this moment |

Well maybe companies should start giving some extra things along with the cd's.
Probably t shirts,stickers or i dont know what else.
I love trance shirts and i would simply buy all the cd's around

When I did the after for 'God is Love' album, I sold the original disks for 25NIS first time ( which is 5.5$US ) and 30 NIS second time ( around 6.5$US ) and I want to say, that eventhough I sold not bad.. I was really disappointed and came to a conclusion that it isn't about money at all...
If I come to a club in my home town and make release party, and sell disks for 6.5 dollars and out of crowd of 250 - 300 ppl only 12 (!!!) ppl buy the disk and among them around 8 are my friends and the club owners, then the trance ppl u have a big problem, it's not about money at all, and u can see it from the artists side as well...
Because of the situation, there are artists that write 3 albums a year and then all the ' good souls ' come and say, this one sucks and he just rewrites the same tracks etc... What do you ppl really want? You want quality music? Put some money into it.. The prices of CD's always weren't very low..
When it comes down to bitchin' how this scene looks like, and the vibeless parties etc. etc. etc... How can b much vibe when the crowd that supposed to like u, rapes u every single time u put a bit of your soul into the music u create? Does that inhance the creativity, or it makes u think that WTF do I need that for?
NOTHING, NOTHING u can say about music ripping that will make it right.. bcuz most of the ppl even when they find on mp's CD that the REALLY love, they wont buy it..
So where is the vibe? Any one of you that rips music and spreads this virus kills the vibe and kills the spirit of creation

And one extra thing.. All the time I hear from the ppl on this forum... WE DESERVE this WE DESERVE that, WE DIDN'T GET this and THE DECO WAS SHITTY, and I have the feeling that there is a big misundertanding of the simple fact:
U cannot receive forever without giving something back... So as music appreciating crowd.. WHAT DO YOU GIVE BACK to artists that make u embrace the rising sun in the morning, or make you shiver and dance like maniaks in the night???
WHAT DO YOU GIVE US BACK?
Think about that one...
And do it sachi please, than u might comprehend besser what kind of damage u r making by your acts

if ppl can get the music for free,
they will NOT buy it.

sad but true.
i mean, what is cheaper ?
5.5 $ ?
or NOTHING ?
the only thing that can change all that is someone going back in time and killing the guy who tought about fucking MP3's !!!

we have a problem in South Africa about the prices trance cds cost, don't know whether it's the importers/distributors who charge alot extra. we pay $17 - $26 per trance cd whereas non-trance cds costs $13. i mean these prices are really ridiculous, when i bought 3cds from psyshop last time me guess the prices were reasonable, but i had to pay $11 extra at our local postoffice for import duty, so online shopping is out of the question for me. I think someone should attend to our problem, I'm willing to budget on 3cds per month when the prices are normal. can't somebody do something about our problem? We need recordlabels to regulate prices all over the world. |

the problem again is not the prices.
its the whole idea of mp3.
and music for free.

Saying "But I buy cd's, I'm ok" won't help anyone. It's a fact that sales are down... Justifying yourself help anyone?
Edit: And Hod, if people will advertise their cd it will look "commercial". And some people don't want their music to look commercial..

I think if anybody really likes trance and psy ambient he shouldn't download but rather buy.
As we know already the trance community is very small, already a great top sale would be 10.000 but the normal album is only selling about 3000 copies. Now if more and more people are downloading how will this end.
If we don't buy we are killing our own joy, our choice, our trance, if their is no more money for labels, there will be no more money for artists, and as a result we shall not have our music anymore, and then this forum will also be sensless.
Let's not kill what we like!!!
( Ps: most CD's are around 12 USD, that's not too much I think ?)

I dont really agree with all of you as far as MP3s are concerned if it werent for them i would never listen to psytrance...in my country Psytrance cds cost 500 bucks ($10 approx) that will be cheap for most of you but 5 cds a month is a bit too much since im not earning money yet...other cds cost $7 but im not really intrested in those ..Neways the music is limited too Infected mushroom ,astral projection and yahel and some older comps and stuff like juno reactor and sun project...newer stuuf is definitely not avilable
Tapes are another option eveen though you comprimise on quality but till i have enough money
i just cant help it.. i still LEGALLY own about 60% of my music because of tapes and stuff like Classical Mushroom and Retro 10 Years Of Isreali Trance but thats about it...
All im saying is that mp3s have made me listen too psy
....good fudge comes on slow!!! |

HOW MUCH DOES an artist make of tapes compared to cds i think its the same coz they just know that a copy of their album is sold

too many lables -too many artists (artists?)-
too many bad music (MUSIC ???) -
selection of quality music is nearly at 0% (!!!)
(its a matter of taste ..right)
SO what do you accpect ? every f***in single release will bought ?> your croud ARE telling you
that its not worth it > lol
i for once blame the Lables (lebles alek..).
.. who that needs to die will die !!! (haha

hmm.. I've heard of some new technologies and shit like that which should prevent ripping CDs.(partially of course, u can never stop the elite guys). maybe someone (some label) can try that?
