Buy your favorite artists cd's.So that you will support them and to have their original work on your collection. The funny thing is that most artists from what i know, know how much money they will earn no matter how much the cd will sell, what i am saying is that in many labels the price for releasing a track is prefixed and that groups really sell their tracks at labels and dont wait for the sales of a cd,offcourse that applies for big groups and artists, less famous artists really dont wait to make enough money from releasing their tracks in various compilations because the prices are really LOW!
Anyway its ok downloading music from the net or trading Mp3's,whoever says something else then he has to change his mind.AND FOR GODS SHAKE WHO HASNT GOT MP'3S IN HIS COMPUTER????????????
Get serious guys.

I think it's ok to burn and rip off and I say ppl that its a substancial part of our technologically integrated lives and future. One thing I wanna ask here ( or WISH here )

I wish I wont see in these forums threads like -

' Where the spirit gone? '
' Is Goa trance really dead? '
' WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THIS SCENE? '

All the answers start in us. So go on with burning.. It gets faster and faster soon you'll do a CD in couple of minutes..

Have fun ;-)

Yeah, copy kills music.but what will u do if your
salary is 50$-150$ per month and a CD(Goa head for example) costs about 30$ and there is one fact that there's no oportunity to buy this music in Music Stores in Our country. We have to order it online, but our orders not coming here because they were stealed on the post or was broken during deliverance. So I do and I will download
music from audiogalaxy and burn CD's for my work.
I've got no choise until something will change...
Bom.

Mp3's are great for sampling I think, and its  more like if a person went to a gas station and cloned the gas instead of buying or stealing it :)

well as a dj keeping up with the latest music is one expensive task.  From what i have seen all the well known dj`s use burned cd`s. Rarely do i see a dj using an original cd. Well it might be that the cd is unrealesed(therefore burned) but sometimes i see burnt compilations used by the artists who are complaining about music copying. wuzzup with that.  well i buy a lot of my music but its just too expensive over here in japan. Sorry but i must burn some of my music. But I do my occasional paying too.

things are not black&white - there can be a gray area of some good taste (tuv-ta'am) in copying.
I also copy music (rarely, but I do), but I feel that I can only copy trax either directly from an artists (the track belongs to him after all, he can choose to give it away) or from ppl I work in the scene (label managers, co-producers...).

and about the DJ excuse - did you know that 'normal' DJs (weddings) must pay a monthly sum to the artists federation to cover copyright fees? not paying for the music you play is the same as a building constructor not paying for the cement or building blocks he's using.

and you know what else? I also wanna have champagne and caviar with my wife, but it costs so much! I'm not ready to pay 90 NIS for this luxury - so I go and steal/rip a store/smuggle some - is this not stealing? sorry ppl, but you forget that music is luxury product, and like everybody in the world you must choose on what you wish to spend your money from a fixed budget (I also do it, and its very limited as well).

nobody is trying to get rich from this music (although it would certainly be nice to be able to), its about recognition to the artist and the survival of the artists and labels - the ppl who work to bring you this music.

But maybe Dave is right, maybe we shouldn't waste our time trying to make a bloody difference?

for me the situation its like :
i burn cd'd, but only dancefloor stuff. why ?? coze trance change direction all the time and trance its like bread, must be new. also problemm that most of albums is quite boring and about same things all 70 min. then i see some realy good album (tarsis-melt,vibrasphere-echo,koxbox-great unkown) i Run and Buy it. i just dont want spend my money for stuff that i will listen to once or twice. in the past i was buying more trance cd's but most of them i dont use anymore, it still nice have 250-300 cd's original collection, but today i prefer buy more softy stuff for home listen and i know that the music i will listen for after few years. so, if artist want we will buy more their albums i think they have to work hardly on art side of their albums, i mean include ambient trax and some experemental stuff for make albums unique and original.
the only lable today i buy all their cd's without listen to it before its  - Free Form record's.

in this direction i see that the music industrey specialy the trance music will slowly die !
its very simple :

1 artist makes music
2 music put in the store
3 ppl buy it from the store
4 money coming back to the label
5 money coming to the artist  (end of circle)
1 artist makes music
.
.
.

if u take 1 of those elements then it wouldnt work.
do your own calculation !!

as said b4 there is ying and yang...
i was introduced to goa psy by a friend who
gave me a cd with 5 mp3 albums...
i now have about 50 mp3 cd's....
but i now also own 29 bought psy albums...
29 i would not of bought if i didn't come across them on these mp3 cd's.....
it is a catch 22 situation...it is hard to be critical on this subject as at sometime we have all copied a video, sony playstion game,pc or music cd and so on......
but i agree that some people just leech and this is disrespectful to the artists...

Leo - artist won't ever stop writing music. You forget that in general, for real artists money isn't the main aim (99% of trance artists are not commercial). It's understood, that quality and quantity of music depends on fans and money but... Artists are artists. And music won't die ever. For sure, styles are dying, trance isn't an exception too, but it is art, first of all. Its my opinion but it is based on centuries of music industry and community.

Peace.

well take me for a example : i only liked from the start of 2000 till now no more than 10 cds and some vinyls , coz i dont like so much stuff
its not that hard for me to spend money on the music , after all i love the music :) but ppl that only collect as much as possible every style eveything , they almost dont listen to thier huge collection , they dont realy like the music , and ppl like that it dosent matter even if they were copying / downloading the music , coz if they didnt have the option to copy/dl they were still not buying the music !!! boooooom
