Pioneer DJM 600 wins

here is my honest opinion of the Denon 1500: SUCKS. i dont like the way the mix sounds in the headphones at all, it was really painful to mix with it. the effects sound great but are not intuitive, you have to press a rotating knob DOWN to switch them (?). how are new users supposed to figure that out in the dark? I would not recommend this mixer for club/rave use. The display is cool but that doesnt make up for some basic flaws.

Dont buy eaither.. Based on my personal experiences and opiion, owning them @ one point too. There both pieces of $hit... The preamps on the DJM sound completely crappy after about an hour or so of being on.

Sure the Denons great if your a mobile DJ that thinks hes a trance DJ

Buy and Allen & Heath Xone62... ifyou can afford it get the Xone92... Really puts some nice filters and warmth back into the CD's if you play them..

Just my 2

yea sure, the rane mixers are good also but they cost a fuckin fortune aswell.. The pioneers are good enough and pretty much standard when playing out.

Honestly, I can't stand Allen and Heath's for mixing psy. The 4 band eqs make it really difficult to quickly switch basslines, and when it does some sort of wierd blending between the two sounds that makes it really difficult to discern the two sounds when you're trying to hear it through the house monitors... This makes it a major pain in the ass if you're off on one of the tracks and you are trying to hear in the monitors which one is which. It's great for house and even prog, but for the faster a bit more complex beats it seems not to be as great. If I had to, I'd go with the pioneers, they're sturdy, reliable, large knobs to do eq tricks quickly, and contrary to popular belief, they sound fine....           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Heh it seems that as many ppl there are to a conversation that much different opnions there will be..

I consider Allen & Heath to be the best mixing board around especially due to the 4 parameter eq and also because of the quality of sound at different EQ's especially the Low Cut.           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

Aight so maybe I am in the stone age with my 100's... and thinking of flogging them off secodn hand,

the CDJ 200 is much more affordable for me, as in I can them within the next 8-9 months, where as the 400's would have to wait until next year.

My question is, seeing as I'm just a cd user, no mp3/WAV's is it really worth my while waiting the extra few months to get 400's?

Is the difference in the jog wheel and other controls much smoother etc?

please only reply if you actually have used them, not just your opinion after visiting the Pioneer web site to read the specs!           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

The Xone3D rocks, can't wait to try the Xone4D.. The Xone92 is nice as well, its hard to get the midi to work with Abelton for me. Allen and Heath make great mixers if you want to break standards and mix outside the box.

Have not used the 200 but own 400s and cannot recommend them enough, very awesome product!!! 0.2 precious pitch shift, as well as wide (ability to double up the speed or slow it down to complete stop using the pitch shift), as well as 0.5 precision, ... well you know the specs I guess hehe but just wanna say they are really great. Nice effects too and the jog wheel feels good too, also dig the light around the jog wheel

So yeah, maybe find someone who has them and try em out, or try em out at a store or something but they are definitely very cool           -------------- Dark & Twisted Night Psy --------------

I agree with Mubali
the Allen & Heath mixers makes "psytrance" mixing a pain in the arse.
the small rubber knobs and the 4 band eq makes the process of doing a "smooth mix" more tricky and uncomfortable in comparison to Pioneer in my oppinion. Sound quality is however a diffrent thing.

I guess im allways a sucker for Pioneer , so DJM600 FTW

No commment on Denon DX-N 1500 cause i simply havent tried it.

Hey,

Nevermind about that.. if you are a good DJ you can mix on simple plaint 2 channel Numark, Gemini or some other Xyz mixer...if you are searching for an excuse when 2 tracks dont beatmatch..and you would put some simple filter in..do it with DJM 600.. BUT.. If you are looking some perfection in the mix, some playing with sounds and changing the melody by your own, than do it with Xzone 62 or 92 ( good output and perfection in there )...and if you need just 2 channel stuff with nice knobs ( lots of space between them ), nice smooth faders and excellent sound - ECLER is your answer...

Just my 2 cents...

Cheers,
P.

btw: And for me.. DENON is just a passing zone for mixing equipment. Not so good to work with, sound ( output ) is terrible...i could put mit side by side with Behringer :/ painfull!!!
