I practice @ home on a sub-$200 stanton rackmount unit. No master tempo, no loop, minimal as shit but it works for what I need it for!

The only big negative is that the play button doesn't respond very well so you have to be quick on the jogwheel after you hit play or you're going to trainwreck right away.

Yes, you have all options, but ofc it's easier, because you have graphics.............. Look no point of explaining it, just download the latest version you find and you will see for yourself . It's easy

If you're gonna use Torq, then definitely keep the cdjs as you can use those as controllers for the program. The x session is just a mixer.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

If you don't have the cash to go for the vestax, you could consider getting your hands on the hercules rmx
http://www.hercules.com/us/DJ-Music/bdd/p/62/dj-console-rmx/
or the steel one
http://www.hercules.com/us/DJ-Music/bdd/p/83/dj-control-steel/

Not very pricey and sturdy built - a big improvement since the first crappy dj controllers hercules was making some years ago.
Cheers!

Edit: The steel one is just a controller whereas the rmx is also a soundcard. Frankly, i would go for the steel. Rmx asio drivers are a bit sucky            Peace, Love, Death metal

Hey guys,

As you can see, there is a lot of topics talking about players and even double openers. So its better to have only one topic, so you could share your opinions here

I could make it sticky for you if you want, just to not open new topics regarding... for an example: "Hey guys, what do you think about pioneer cdj 1000"! Because its just too much of this

some replies became 10% relevant with the merging of the topics!

Well, some issues have already been answered. And i have gather them and merge them into this topic, opened by a reason. Because it doesent make any sense to open the same thing but differente ( if you know what i mean )

You will get used on it i am sure

yeah, its not like the survival of the human race depends on this....

thing is discussing CD players (current topic) has nothing to do with discussing Midi DJ solutions (Torq, VCI, Hercules etc) so people searching for answers will not find them and will OPEN A NEW TOPIC....Vicious Cycle!!

Cheers

As you have said before. Using a search option is the best solution for everyone. People needs to get used on search button, otherwise there wouldnt be such a mess like 3 times opened topics about Pioneer CDJ 1000 and 2 times about serato etc...

Think about it

Once again, as you are complaining:

I have merged all the things regarding CD players and INFO about them ( Everything what concirns CD players / if the name of the topic included questions about CD players ad what to take / choose..i have merged, but if you went offtopic in a particular topic by some other theme which you found attractive, that is not my problem ). I have merged only topics regarding CD players, even some of them i have left opened and by itself.

its a mess imho.. Going thru 5 pages of different players when you want to read about 1.. Would be better with 1 topic for 1 model..

hey,

Well if you would overlook thru all of them. You could see a lot of posts going offtopic. Writing about mixers in CDJ topic, and other way around. If you send a PM to a user: "Please open a new topic regarding this issue and please dont write something which is black into white etc..." he just ignores it and doing it all over again. This is a mess! Actually you can find everything in there. I could split them into normal topics, but hey... there were many similar topics opened ( around 6 of them ) And if some new user enter this section he thinks..ok..i will open a new topic, because i can, because all of them are doing the same thing.

btw: It would be better to have one topic with one player indeed, but people would start to open topics about: "I dont like this PLAY button on CDJ 200, what do you think? "           Psynthex [ Vertikal Records ]
