Yeah, I'd stay away from Denon mixers, they make great decks if you want to break limits.

I never knew that dj's used filters to mask their beat matching, shame on you. Filters are not all the same when it comes to mixers. If you use them to mask your skills then i agree with Psynthex, get the DJM 600, warning: its cheaper sound quality.

I agree that the Allen and Heath isn't for everyone, especially ones who just mix two tracks for simple transitions. The 4 band eq does break the mold for standard mixing, which seems to be the goal for most. You really need to be into it to appreciate it. Whats the point of driving a BMW if you only require a Yugo? They both get you from A to B but the handling capabilities don't match nor should they, different road courses are needed, ones that aren't so straight to fully understand the performance.

The music shouldn't make the mixer.

actually, having used both, I'd go with the denon but thats because I prefer having the 8 channels and matrix knobs above so I dont have to physically change a bunch of RCAs around when switching people from decks to serato to vinyl to insert device here.

the only complaint I have about that denon mixer is that the cue buttons arent as solid as pioneer and over time will get sticky (one out of four on the board I've got is finicky) most pioneer fans that like effects wont like it since they are a different layout, though way usable and actually has more filters if I'm not mistaken (might be.. actually)

now if its a djm-800 well I prefer it hands down, but between a 600 and that denon x 1500 I'd go with it unless your going to beat the shit out of it, then maybe the pioneer would handle it better.. I havent heard as great of things about the 600 but the 800 is a tank, we have put it through the ringer for years and it still sounds fine..

I've used that denon at shows where I didnt want to fork out for the pioneer and it works just fine, really touchy gain screw on the back though so be careful when sound checking. only complaint I have about it is that the booth mix only has RCA outs instead of quarter inch like the pioneer (but thats the 800 not sure on the 600)

hope this helps.           .:.vaxination.:.

The djm 600 doesn't have 4 band eq's, maybe that's why it sucked. As said, its not for everyone which doesn't mean they suck, maybe its the Dj skills at question. I can see if a piece of hardware limits your ability to be creative maybe sucking but not sucking because it has avenues that can open them up. I fully agree that it may cause issues when making a simple mix because you have 2 knobs you must move instead of one, maybe. I'm not to sure but I know I'm gonna miss my 4 band eq when I upgrade. Why so much negativity? come on, you have a Buddha or something like that as a photo.

I just sold my DJM-600

Excellent build quality
Great metering
Good monitoring section
Output trim good for system integration
Usable FX (this was the first to do this well)
Poor channel input trim calibration
Good layout
Average sound quality
CDJ intergration

Agreed...

but compatibility of dealing with CDJ 200 is far better than 400 for sure. And hey..for CDJ 200 you may buy a nice rubber stick for a jog..so its soo nice to work on it

I do understand that your attempting to say something at me, however I'm not to sure exactly what your saying... I'm guessing that "the 4 that suck" means 4 band eq's suck. That"s defiantly your feelings and not exactly in tune with "Noble Eightfold Path part 7" from which your photo has led me to believe you have chosen Dharma as your path. Oh well, maybe you just thought the photo was cool.

I have no idea what "pio" means in regards towards A&H, over my head.

I agree with you about it being more about the Feeling vs. the Skill. That's key in how to raise our spiritual vibration to activate our psychic and channeling abilities as a performer/Dj, which is something standards want let you do.

So, between the Denon DX-N 1500 vs Pioneer DJM 600 I'd pick the Denon. Pioneer is more about the name and sometimes that's what your buying. I've never played on the 1500 but I have the 600, It felt like I was in Romper Room

Allen & Heath mixers are great, but a pain in the ass to mix on at a party, better in studios, when you haven't had a few drinks

Pioneer make industry standard - they take a beating, still sound good and are easy to use under any conditions (though they do max out sometimes using flange)

Denon - well, I have never had a good expierence with any of their products           Trance is the answer

Industry standard??

has the psy industry? or DJ industry? passed a standard?

thats manufacturers marketing talk.
