Hello to all

AND SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE BOOM TEAM!!

Here goes some very important CONSTRUCTIVE criticism that I hope will be taken into account in the planning for the next BOOM...

If you are planning an even like this U R RESPONSIBLE for making the experience THE BEST POSSIBLE FOR YOUR CLIENTS...cause thats what they are!

1. THE ENTRANCE

Last year the first 2 days of the festival, in my opinion, were spoiled by the mood of the people, especially foreigners who drove there. I spent the first two days hearing nothing but CRITISIM.. why??

Because they had driven for thousands of miles in their cars and vans, some of which quite old to arrive at the spot and spend 12 HOURS under the burning hot sun in a never ending queue to get in to the place!!!

That is torture to the people and to their beloved cars which are forced to start stop to move a meter... Frustrating to say the least... And completely UNACCEPTABLE AND UNSEEN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD... except the previous BOOM!
Its ridiculous that this issue has not been dealt with in the past years... It is imperative to allow TIME for 20.000 people to arrive at the site and get comfortable before the party!!
It is imperative for the VIBE!
why do you think big festivals in germany open doors a day before they start????

So this LITTLE detail was enough for me to hear all sorts of criticism about everything else from moody and tired people. Suddenly your outlook changes...to the negative. Dont like the deco bla bla dont like the line up etc... A pity when you spend 2 years preparing an event to let it be spoiled before it even starts..

2. THE TOILETS!!!

My first disapointment when I finally got inside last year was the LOCATION of the main toilets!
THINK!!!! why bother to find a beautiful spot and arrange it and decorate it to then put an enormous arrangement of toilets IN THE MIDDLE of the place RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WATER!!! They spoiled the panoramic view completely and also became beyond disgusting very fast, probably draining into the water where people were swimming...on the 4th day the smell was undescribable and the state of the area was definately not hygenic

Why not try: SMALLER GROUPS OF TOILETS AROUND THE PERIFERY OF THE GROUNDS... or at least not in front of the water please!!

3. THE MARKET AREA!

in 2002 it was SO NICE!!!! to walk through the shops and chaishops on the way to the chillout!!! It was an INTEGRATING and integrated setup! people stop on the way for a tea and a bite, and it looked BEAUTIFUL.
Separating the food shops and other shops makes no sense! its bad for business and makes moving around the place much more uncomfortable...please put it back, or simply reunite all the shops at least, going up the hill!

Then there are the typical crappy soundsystem and lineup comments...

Maybe would not be so bad if peoples basic needs were accounted for.

But I must say this.
I dont know what trance means to people these days.
Is it really so fundamental to inflate certain acts to the point where they WIll become commercialised.
What do we want with all this in the end... A place outside the reality of life to share ideas, to express ourselves and experiment, or a new style of commercial music.
Do we want trance parties or Raves?
Why do we feel such a need to find heroes? gurus?
Why is it that the real motivations behind the movement are becoming more and more obscure, hiding behind the inflated figure of a guy who plays music surrounded by a bunch of people who are loosing touch with the real reasons why they are there...(I hope) or maybe they are just there to see the guy live and take as much drugs as they can in the least time...
COME ON PEOPLE!
the trance scene is facing a big crisis!!
It is in danger of being just another replay of every other attempt to change our outlook on life...
the spirit is being buried under names and bank notes!
MUSIC IS THE MOST POWERFUL TOOL WE POSESS TO TRANSMIT INFORMATION AND FEELINGS!
IT CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!
it is so powerful that who makes it usually gets lost in his own ego before he is able to really profess a diference!
What matters is NOT THE DJ, ITS THE MUSIC AND THE MESSAGE IT CONTAINS!!
I feel so sad to watch the second attempt at a psychadelic revolution surrender to the forces of the capitalst ways...
COME ON!
TRANCE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A WAKE UP CALL!
NOT A STUPIDIFYING, HERD GENERATING FORM OF MUSIC...
its pains me to look at the arrogance of people who go to these events thinking they know better than the average people who then DO NOTHING AND KNOW NOTHING about making a diference!
IF WE CANT CHANGE THE WORLD NOW
WE ARE HERE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE
LET IT NOT BE THAT THE DECADENCE OF ANY SYSTEM IS INEVITABLE...
LET IT SHOW THAT WE CAN BE DIFFERENT...
WE CAN TRANCEND THIS SHITE
WE CAN BE BETTER AND LIVEW BETTER
WE CAN BE OURSELVES!
WE CAN LOVE UNCONDITIONALY!
WE CAN LOVE OUR EARTH TRULY!
WE CAN STOP BEING HIPOCRITS!
AND WE DONT NEED OUR EGOS TO GO ABOUT OUR DAILY BUSINESS.
lets share...
truly
and without interest!
In a real party the dj and the organiser is sharing! they are giving the people their best ENERGY they are giving us the chance to dance.without having to change the tape.
to express, grow and share!
In silly parties nobody shares nothing.
not even the energy of their expression, cause they are too busy criticising the music and thinking about weather or not the dj is cool.

So enough rant for today.
not bad for a first time
hope you enjoyed.

lets go find the source!

love to all

if 2006, is going 2 b like this, i guess i have 2 make a tent on the entrance in the day befor 2 get a quick entrance, or get there by car in the day befor and stay in line..cause i stood for 4/5 hours at the burning sun..and it isn´t healthy..           ...

this is indeed a good post antripod. pls boom organisers consider it. cause it can be the greatest gathering of all, but also people like the crowd i'm in, which are in the scene since 93 and going to a lot of different festivals ...are just fed up with the mountain of negative shit music (i must be honest here - at nighttime one can't stand the dancefloor anymore - example fullmoon05) which is played at festivals. there is so much war in this world - that's the reason i do not understand why there has to be war in the dancefloor as well. sorry, but for the sound some djz play you have either to be completely out of your face or you have a problem. the trance scene is in a crisis, cause with that music you get more and more true drugheadz without any meaning and you loose more and more the positive vibe people - as they are going underground again, to celebrate their own small, but positive parties, where you don't here one single 'war' tune and everybody is not only moving at the dancefloor, but is moving things also in real life.
so it is true - all organisers have a big responsability towards the visitors - also for those from far away which paid a lot until the gates - and have the right to be treated properly - it is not only about the dancefloor - in a festival it is the whole thing.

so - all the best we hope - with this edition of boom

without a shadow of a doubt i believe that the whole boom crew always gave her best. but consider all the thoughts about the signals the trance scene should give...again they should be positive signals of hope and not of despair, emptiness and 'war'music.

i do believe in this scene and the people
in it which are moving things, that's why i'm writing this

love
xxxx

ohhhhhh. the long queue with the burning sun inside them vehicles... perhaps that is why NOBODY thought of giving two girls loaded heavily with gear from months of travelling a ride! seriously, beautiful festival, but the attitude must have been somewhat dented as we were asking people who were virtually parked due to the queue to give us a ride and found none. we ended up having to walk the whole thing (took us three hours) under the sun

well, anyway. will be there in 2006 with a van, and will SURELY give walkers a ride!!

I look pretty much forward to it.
I will not complain about the muzic even if it is mostly Dark and psychedelic (dont like that kind of music) because I want to experience what it is like to be at a TRANCE party with so many people.
Well, waiting for more info.
Keep up the good work.

I take offence to that! I can see why you might not like this music, but I think it is very narrow minded to say that people have to be off their face to enjoy it. I really like this type of music, and can have a great time listening to it even if not on drugs!! I am also far from a violent person, or someone who may be considered to have problems. For me this type of music being played at night is a great contrast to more uplifting music during the day. I see it as a chance to lose myself in the music and have a good stomp.

In my opinion all forms of the music should be accepted and given its own place at a festival. I think we should accept all parts of the culture, as by having more diversity and differences of opinion we can see the world with a much broader mind. I think it is totally against the trance culture to talk about people listening to a certain type of music in this way, as surely we should accept all who bring the right vibe to a party.

For me, if only a specifc type of trance were to be played at a festival, then I would start to get bored. Diversity is the key to keeping a scene alive. I have been in the hardcore scene for some years now and I have seen it begin to stagnate as many producers dare not make music that could be considered different, and because of this the scene is shrinking again, with only a few people making creative music. It would be very sad if this were to happen in the trance scene, but if a lot of the people who post on here were to get their way then I could see the music becoming more and more unimaginative and formulaic and that would be a shame.

Anyway, enough talk like that! I think this festival is going to be amazing and I look forward to seeing everyone there,

Peace

You couldn´t be righter Bandanaman.
Nowadays there´s tendency to make commercial events, all of them with full-on 24h a day.
As McKenna says, "monotony is one of enemies of the people", so respect all the creative solutions nd differences, nd don´t try to turn this to a specifc type of people only. cause it´ll ruin the scene...

Please dont misunderstand the purpose of my post!!! I am not here to promote (my) festival!!!! I must say that I agree with pretty much all the things that have been said in the last 5 postings.Especially with Artipod !!!(well said) BUT why aren't you people open to new things.I went to the last Boom and I personally saw the same things. An amazing festival with way to many misshaps for a crew that has such talents and experience.(I wish I had a team like that)
If you would have given a chance to lesser known festivals such as Ozora or you would have seen that the toilets were always clean, all kinds of music were played, amazing live and djs with no egos, peacfull atmosphere ,amazing people and pretty much all the things you criticized.Well then ???
Lets be more open and travel a little!!!Lets keep our psychedelic dreams alive .Thats all.

Diogo is conspicuous by his absence in this thread - what's happening - unanswered emails is not a good sign - we need details and we need reliable contact info - some of us are refusing party bookings hoping to be a part of this fantasm fest, but Diogo is silent - what gives?

Please give up to date contact details for us VJ people - we help make ur fest beautiful xxx

I also agree with all the things that have been said in the last 5 postings ,BUT mr bubble i think is a very lame way to promote ozora festival like this, yes ozora is beautiful location, but you as a promoter ,,,,,very sneaky,,,,chance your attitude and maybe more people will come to your festival but for sure if you keep using other festivals forums like this ,,,,then maybe someone will expose your dirty deeds as a promoter,,,,,,
