unfortunatelly the "minimal" releases are not that much..the labels are not that much interested for kikbassnare tunes, this is the reason that many minimal artists have changed their style...
i dont expect(and i dont want either)to see minimal in this kind of "best"..

hmmmm well you whait till abit later on in 2006 mate, and you tell me that minimal is not changing and coming back with a BIG OL NEW SET OF TEETH eh, Zenon, sinteck, Crotus, CCR, there are labels that are interested in this sound bro, and represting it well id say.

Take 'Minimal criminals' sound for example from your home country of brazil, you cant tell me this is ''just'' Kick bass snare'' music .......
but thanks for educating me on the current status of minimal dude

het wizdumb,i hope i didnt got misunderstood here..i am a minimal fun my self and by the term "kickbassnare" i mean something good and positive
but in comparison with the other music styles the labels u mentioned are just a few:(
i am not brazilian,i am greek and here in thessaloniki there is a minimal progressive movement that goes quite well i may say

WOW! Nice to see a thread that gets people's juices flowing LOL!!
Big THANKS to Detox for getting the poll organised!
IMHO a separation of some sort to allow room for "Best of" in different sub-genres is a good idea......it would help stop the results being skewed if it just happens that of the 250 voters a large chunk of them are prog fans, if you get my meaning.
So yeah why not go for it for the 2006 poll; have some kind of split even if its only a small amount like full-on/prog/tech categories!
I can see that breaking things down can get out of control and NO you never will keep everyone happy BUT the best way to get a fully reflective poll is for more people to bother to vote!!!!

How will you find The Way?

X-Rust, no worries mate
I see more where your coming from now
Nice to hear you guys got a happening Minimal /progressive scene going on there

yeah i suppuse it will be a good while till we see more minimal underground stuff featured in a poll such as this,(if ever!!) heheh but suppose thats a good thing in the big picture of things
Underground is where its at, all sorts of never before seen creatures and underground societys striving hehe

Good on yeah Detox, for doing the poll

Silent hill (or Silence Hill) is NOT a new act.

I believe Liquid Soul was eliminated for the same reason. Now take that cheeze out of my burger

Now look at the names are check if they are the same SILENT HILL you know now

In case you have any doubts

Now can you remove Silent Hill aka Silence Hill aka Cheddar Cheeze Factory from best new artist?

So is this just going to be ignored, or do we have to be more patient?

HOM-Mega Productions has allready used Silent Hill's 2nd place for promotional goals in Silent Hill's biography on the HOM-Mega Productions website:

I wanted to say thanks to DETOX for the effort in putting together this poll.

BUT I don't see in even one way that this poll represent in any aspect the reality of the psy scene...

Maximum I can say is that this poll represent (maybe)the selling results of the biggest cd/books/dvd seller in france and switzerland( FNAC)

But as a psy lover, I don't buy cd's in the fnac, as don't do all people I know involved in this movement except for few, then I don't see how a similar poll can be used in seeing how the 2005 was, or wich were the best release in 2005.

Yes I'm a night psy lover, but I also love to listen to melodic/full-on in the morning( if not too cheesy ) and to progressive in the day or in the first hours of the evening, don't know if it would be better with a subdivisions for the problems that some people have already explained, but in any case, this poll doesn't give justice to the movement, or if it does, I think 2005 was really a bad year! ( and I don't feel it really )
