Funny, you can ask the same question Britney Spears fans. Think you'll get an answer?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Hello all,

We are eagerly awaiting Kiriyama's arrival in NYC for the next 6362MetaForce party - so imagine my surprise to see this thread. But then, not really surprise - more a cynical smile, noting the irony here, considering that a couple of days ago i wrote in the North America section that 6362MetaForce would no longer post our parties on isratrance due to the hostility of moderators here, and because we don't feel this forum is welcoming to our vibe or our music.

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/101624/forum/28

This thread just tells me that we were correct to make this decision. I can only refer to Kiriyama's post above and say that I, too, believe psychedelic music has the power to change the world - to wake people up through soundwaves and positive vibrations - and any of you who look on 6362MetaForce's myspace or tribe page can read all of my thoughts about this scene and this music in those places (addresses below) - i won't bore you with my thoughts here.

One thing i will mention, however. To say that psychedelic music is "only about fun" or "revolves around fun" lessens our experience and our impact on the world. Using LSD purely for "fun" does the same thing - lessens its impact on this world by demoting from a tool of liberation to an escapist substance.

Kiri's eloquence in the post above, in and of itself, is inspiring. As for Peacespect, Kiriyama, Vegetal - well, these are some of the most innovative and boundary-pushing sounds in the world today - whether we are talking about trance, psystomp or any other genre. I cannot speak for Goa Gil, but i would be shocked if Babaji agreed that his music is diametrically opposed to the music of the youngest and most incredible innovators in psychedelic music - as the first post in this thread seems to indicate.

I'm disappointed to read this thread, but it only serves to remind me that PSYSTOMP really doesn't belong in the same category as "trance" anymore. Psychedelic music is pure liberation - bringing us to a higher plane. If "trancers" aren't interested in that higher space, and just want to have "fun" - in the lowest escapist sense of the word - then i no longer belong in trance. But I would note that i do believe that 6362MetaForce parties are pure unadulterated FUN FOR ALL....

So.... PSYSTOMP!!! this is where i belong, and so does kiri, vegetal, melorix, hishiryo, lab, silent horror, pondscum, adi, katastrof, orestis.... stranger... dark elf... wowww so many of the new bright shining lights of psychedelic music would not fit into TRANCE because they are simply too intelligent - according to this thread.

Like Kiriyama, my intention here is not to draw lines in the sand. But others here have already drawn those lines without realising it.

"Artists with a message"? ALL TRUE ART has a message ... whether that message is about global warming or about partying our feet off..... both are important messages. Better when they are combined, according to me. Why do you all feel that being conscious mean you can't be (or have) FUN?

The great irony of the 'trance scene' is that we're killing it from the inside with such closed-mindedness in a genre that used to be so open.

Unbelievable. You've cited the reason for the 60s' failure as your own need for escapism. So much for dreaming the psychedelic dream.

This is one depressing shot of the trance world. How things have changed in the last 5 years.

The great irony is people who are in for fun are close-minded and inferior as opposed to the "wow let's put a sample of a screaming woman in the track munch some LSD, praise the Shiva and hope he saves us from Global Warming" people. All this is even funnier when it comes to a party org that stirred some good amount of shit in NYC.
Thanks but i'll stick to beer, an occasional spliff and fun progressive/minimal trance with absolutely no message. Please don't tell me about the scene and who belongs there.
And as noted, the 60's revolution didn't change shit. It morphed into yuppies in the 80's. Microsoft and Apple anybody?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Classic nasty rude isratrancer ... thank you for your input.

I am the one who does not belong here, and i freely admit that. But to see you all bash intelligence does make me sad for the state of this world. Your comments about yuppies only underline my point. Keep 'em coming.

Well, my dear friend who likes to drink beer and continue to live in this world without any knowledge or drive ...the whole reason you are writing today on this forum about this genre 'Trance' is because of the 60's ..'cos the one thing it did was give you psychedelic music's first taste and to all those liberated thinkers to evolve the music that you have to this day.....
People like you are the reason this music today has evolved beyond what your call trance.....so it is fine if you want to stay where you are and not evolve with it...oh yeah forgot with your bottles of beer oblivious to any messages...

Like we say back home "CHALO" I think you have only reinforced the point here....!!!!!!!!

If the 60s was a failed generation in terms of potential as grass root movement and liberation, what about the united opinion that was raised to bring U.S. troops back home from Vietnam? Why does Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, The Doors and The Beatles among others still attract new listeners? I can speak as a Scandinavian, that socialism, the "evil red ideology" the capitalist block so despised, was even more accepted and spread as an idea of living among the Swedes, thus giving birth to our 70s: a time where ideas about unity and equal rights completely dominated our society in all aspects. Furthermore, the 60s inspired a lot of philosophers, society thinkers and a lot more...

If the 60s didn't result in anything at all besides the use of acid, then why are you eating acid in the first place? Just for fun? Was it the same back in the 60s, the hippies just did it only for fun? Hello, the big acid test, anyone?

Indeed. Are these artists allowed to mention a political point of view because their music is more melodic, or are they going to be bashed here as well?

It didn't change shit cause USA still waging useless wars around the world with the so called baby boomers at helm. I believe Bill Clinton passed the acid test as well. Didn't stop him from managing a war on Yugoslavia.
Get a grip people, nothing changes. Human beings are still the same. We still eat, shit and fight with our neighbors. The minority can still eat whatever mind expanding drugs they wish to take, it won't change anything in the long run.

Will it be 148BPM and will feature a rolling bassline and reversed kicks? I'm not really into Hindu, i rather dig in Jewish mysticism. I'll make sure not to give my tracks names like "The Brit Mila", "Shabbat Shalom". And my album covers will not feature the Wailing Wall. Sorry, please keep your religion out of my music. It's annoying.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

You are the one that brought up Shiva, Pavel, or did you forget that?

If you'd like to leave out religion, by all means do so. But please don't make fun of Hindu symbolism and ritual, and declare your own faith on a public forum - and THEN say you'd like to leave out religion.

Another charming post from you, i must say....

Sweety, you are the one that brought up Shiva. Leave religion out, by all means. While you're at it, forget the roots of trance.

The roots of Trance? What will that be exactly?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
