I just had a thought.

It'll be nice if people here will give us links to reviews from the forum or the main website which really affected them, made them buy a favorite CD, discover a new direction, or where just a joy to read.

Give us a name, link, and tell us why.           ---------------------------------------------

I remember reading a review by KakoOlalajwal, of the Lost & Found album by Da Damn Phreak Noize Phunk, that made me buy the cd and I feel in love with it. So cheers to you Kako.

And, I have to say, that every review by pr0fane, death posture and krelm are a joy tread. So cheers to them too.

Cheers to everybody

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/35315/forum/9 (Abakus - That Much Closer To The Sun)

Not specifically the review from Reconstructed (although it is very well-written), but more the topic itself. Probably never seen so much hype concerning an album, and luckily I fell for it. Amazing release.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

By the way I think it’s great to see a high percentage high quality reviews at isratrance – far, far superior of the standard only 2 years ago. It’s a joy to see so many people putting a lot of effort into reviewing the music they like (and dislike) – and I’m not even going to mention names, as the crop is bigger than ever.

Only disadvantage as I see it is the decrease of number of reviews – or at least that’s my impression. Seems like only 30-40% of the latest releases are given thorough reviews           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Russ`s review of Son Kite - Colours was my fav review that I can remember. So much much insight, analysis and interpretation, not just a play-by-play.

Otherwise I guess profane stands out, hes like the "industry standard" for all things more proggy, hes done so many reviews I know his taste and I can pretty much tell where I stand compared to him. Plus he always uses the same format and is very good at describing the tracks. Hard to pinpoint one single review, they are all good.

Otherwise krelm is the best from a pure writing point of view (hes american, thats explains it), and he has very good taste. death posture is also very informative.           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

I have bought Sir Eel - Shiva Subcontractor purely based on the (very few) reviews in the chillout section of the board. Never heard Waterjuice's music before, but have never been happier with a purchase.
I have also last year bought Gnostic Traveller because the reviews here were positive. I usually buy after reading good reviews as well as having it recommended by friends (unless I am in a record store and something catches my ear). However, I did know a lot of the artists on Gnostic Traveller, so it was not purely based on the reviews.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

Never bought an album based on reviews, I trust my ears only. I download it ,if i like it I buy it. But some of the best reviews i have read are by Damion (psyreviews).Funny, brief & to the point.
