today we finished half of the basstraps!
without the airpreassure-staple-gun it would take 10 times longer...
the rockwool is 4,7 inch in thickness for all traps.
i also bought some new fabric, nice orange xD
rockwool total
a killer friend of mine xD
nice trick, to cut those still packed
under construction...
airpreassure-staple-gun (thanks to my girl for borrowing)
some finished absorbers
tomorrow we´ll finish those beasts!
ah... and next time we will use a workdesk, our backs really hurt from working on the floor...

Great work. What kind of rockwool do you use? As I see its from Knauf, do you have any specifications for the material?
I'm planning to build absorbers as well and I'm still looking for the right material. So far my product of choice is Rockwool Termarock 50 but I'm open for any recommondations.

hey,
15 traps, rockwool was about 300-350€.
all together about 600-700€ and ALOT of work...
the rockwool got no special specifications, its basic mineralwool... very heavy hehe
1 piece (80cm x 62,5cm x 12cm) weight about 8 kg
today we transported the traps to my home (2nd floor uuuffff...)
tomorrow ill mount as much traps as possible... will not be easy to do it by myself.
as shown earlier in the thread, this will be the front view of the room;
still waiting for my focals arghhh
finally finished!!! (thx to peaty, alone i would be fucked up)
transported to studio
first impressions gg
i followed this plan: (exception, i took 4,7inch rockwool)

nice man , i think you re gonna hear a nice improvment with all that
i think there is formula to have the density i have seen it on the net.
for rockwhool i don t remeber exaclty but the optimal density is somwhere around 45/55 and 35/40 for fiber glass if i m correct for broadband absorbers
i have used homaterm flexcl for my rooms ,check it , the problem it s very dusty you need to use a fabric that don t let the light pass tru to be sure it don t pass.

The Homaterm FlexCL seems to be quite good from what I read but it's more expensive than the Termarock 50. The Termarock with a densitiy of 50 kg/m3 and a gas flow resistance of 16k comes pretty close to Ethan Winers tested 703 which has a density of 48 kg/m3. Unfortunately there's no 703 in Germany, it's quite hard to find an equivalent. There's not much choice in the local shops and I think I have to order it.

yes the flexcl work great ,it was recommended to me over fiber glass and rockwhool but i think it s on par with proper density rockwhool and fiber glass for broadband absorbers.
i m gonna make more traps and i m not sure to use it again i have read it s not healthy but the price was almsot the same as using rockwhool if i remember ,they sell it by packets of 3 and it costa bit less than 40 euro the packet (for 400 euro ,30 pannels ,you can build a bunker ina small room with no wood, just flexcl on top of each other making walls of flexcl )
gonna check Termarock but not sure i can find it here , if it s rockwhool at 50 it s should be good i think for broadband how much does it cost in germany? |

In another forum someone bought 80mm thick Termarock 50 for 9,12€/m² + VAT at his local store. The Termarock 50 comes in thickness of 40, 50, 60 and 80mm.
Rockwool has different products/names depending on the country, you better check for their products on their regional website. If they don't have Termarock I'm sure they have an euqivalent with similar specifications.
