Israelis have caused lots of problems in india specially in leh "there was a local who was killed in leh last year with a foreign influence"
Isrealis only get a visa in india who are "working" in israel no military passout, i think its a good decision our natural beauties have been destroyed because of tourism.

i dont think this will last long
as once the business starts to get affected it will change...israel is india's second largest defense trader, also israelis are investing heavily into indian real estate, plus the diamond business is huge, along with technology collabration...this is just a short term thingy wont survive in the long run..also india and israel collaborating on the space program...i think they might want israelis to go back to their home country to obtain visa rather that obtaining one from nepal or anyother neighbouring country...that part will survive, but banning anyone from a country for three years wont float well, india has a lot to loose.

And just why are we so quick to pounce on people? A question was asked, and presumably Jimbo is from Israel... why can no one ask a question and get a straight answer anymore? I have been going through most of the indian threads and most of the threads are basically arguments..No one here answers the question asked but the topic goes haywire and ends up going off topic...Can we all only answer the question asked or get into a positive discussion and not keep blaming ppl....

As for the music scene, this decision is sad IMO, as it would restrict the frequent visits by Israeli artists we want to see here in India pretty often.

jimbo, there is no such rule or provision. What is true though is that off late it has become nearly impossible to get visas from Nepal. I would suggest Bangkok or Colombo. Bangkok may be a little expensive, but the service is good and fast since the visa issuing has been outsourced to a private company (ww.ivac-th.com/). Colombo is also good but still quite bureaucratic.
You can also buy 'black market visas' from touts in Nepal for about 40k inr, but i would really advise you not to...they can land you in trouble.

On the contrary, I heard from someone that this is a new rule that is (possibly) being applied to all countries, not just israel-india. Will confirm when I get the details. If it's true, it's got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of.
