I was 1 year old when that happened... still it inspired me to make some oldschool stuff. Not even close to the technoish sound of the tracks played in the video, this is more like oldschool goa. Thanks for uploading this amazing video bearpill.

well backin a little to the subject of the very few first pages...

i also agree with the people that says this lack of energy and trance state in the dancefloor isnt related to the music...

imo it was related to a society standarts..

in 1991 we as society had much less judgements and standards then we have today.... ( oka we had a lot in that time too but today i think its bigger those patterns )..

which makes people to go the dancefloor with more judgement in the head leadin to much more shy people to let themselves loose the control in the music and let the music control..... ( the body and mind trance state ) heck, when u are in trance state u look like a :fool: , going one site to another in beautiful movements tho still look like a fool coz it aint a school dance.its a random dance, there isnt the right way to move... the music just makes u move. So its much harder today for people to let them go.They are all the time thinkin bout the next, how they are lookin, if they look cool , if they are doin the correct thing, etc.. How will people let themselve flow in the music ?

obviously part of the music had reacted to it....but a reaction to the society...

and as it was said..till today u still can find some dancefloor there and here that will have the lukcy to live this trance state... but yea today s harder....

and thanks for sharin those voov 1 amazin videos its always a pleasure to see those magic moments that have passed but we could not live from our magical scene...

Happy 20th birthday VooV/VuuV! You have truly grown up, from an innocent, yet enlightend baby to a naughty, wild twen. Lets see where the next 20 years lead us. Indeed you have grown alot, look at the size of you now - since you entered your teens (and even before) you have shed your shell of innocence and dazzled us with your looks (and lasers ) instead. Its no wonder you are out of control, you lost one of your "parents" only a few years ago. A loss always hurts, but love will heal the wounds. Who knows what you will look like when you are 30 or even 40. I am sure your beauty will continue to change and evolve, and I think you will turn me on even more when you have calmed down again and developed a few wrinkles on your beautiful sun-tanned festival face and body. Happy 20th, make a wish. And please let it include getting rid of those annoying on stage "gogo dancers" at the opening. They look like they would rather be in a club or doing steroids while Paris Hilton is rubbing cocaine on their nipples.

vuuv is so commercial, they lost it so many years ago. Go for more underground parties if you want the full psychedelic experience IMHO !!!!            3o~ kriz aka krize 3o~ ....Horrordelic Records.... http://www.horrordelic.com

Overall I agree with you Kriz. One of the biggest continuous turn offs since many, many years has been the music on the main floor. After the opening of the mainfloor, the music has been extremly shitty to my ears. They usually do a good job with the "opening" itself, all that setting the VuuV logo on fire and theatrics and stuff, but what follows...well is been pretty dissapointing for me. Normally the worst kind of full-on that sounds really bad due to:

a) the crappyness and superficiality of the music itself (at least to my ears), no disrespect to anyone opening on the mainfloor in the last 10 years or something, and even long before that, as far as I can remember. Unworthy of the psychedelic energy that should be there.

b) The poor setup of the speakers which makes everything sound like a sludge of polluted baby food if you are not standing in the centre of the set-up. As soon as you are on the outskirts of the floor, you may as well not be there, because it sounds like 3 tracks are playing at the same time.

Ands yeah, its big so you cant be too picky with the crowd. Nevertheless, I have taken many people there in the past who have enjoyed themselves despite all this. The market, deco and lasers always bedazzle them. I find avoiding the main floor and seeking refuge elsewhere is a good tactic.
