All it takes are artists starting to make this kind of music again (with a modern sound). It can be done but nowadays you are not accepted unless your music is around 145 bpm and have multilayer of melodies on top of each other.
problem is that most artists in this scene does not dare to change their style as they know they wont get any bookings unless they all sound the same

with all the crap , the good thing is that you could still find the odd good party just about anywhere (im guessing a bit here) , i know from goa .. people been shitting (me included) on goa for the longest time , yet still this year caught a couple real killer parties ... dj under coconut tree somewhere , a really good one .. and a bunch of happy people tripping randomly everywhere ..
its still alive if its still your thing ..I haven't much of an idea about bigger more pro festivals in europe etc but i remember reading a "megalopsy" (i think) blog not that long ago about a bunch of good small parties everywhere they went in europe touring ,
but is it still your thing ? some small research and itd be easy to figure your kind of psy party to go and your psy party to avoid
