We, at Morphonic records, sublicensed 3 tracks on YSE compilations, and we always get the money (mmm, actually I'm waiting the money from the last one but I think it's just a little delay... I hope )
no major problem here !

Little problem is sometimes communication...on our side with Ben, who hardly answer any emails...Alex was helpful then !

(we never received YSE CDs to give for artists...but as it's sub-licensed it's not a very big deal...)

we have some expirience with the label..as we released once a album there and several 3-licenz tracks.

In points like Statments and payments they are second to none...i mean in fact they are the only label beside midijum who sended us statments anyway...
Even 3 years after release they still send us statments about any single track we ever released there!

communication could be better maybe...but the important things for a label they run 100% professional

Must support YSE here on my side and clerify something. I back everything Bim has said about the way YSe are working and most artists like dru and even quantize which are our srtists (who got paid for the tracks licensed through us and didnt get paid for one track licensed by a third side label which i will not mention the name here out of respect). The way YSe works is efficient ONLY if you follow exactly their way of operation!! You get a license request, you sign it and send it back to them with an invoice and then you get the advance payment (normally a little bit after release) if you dont get it there is a very nice and supportive accounts lady in their office who solves any payment issues almost immediately! this is how a big company works! As an artist if you "found" out tracks of yours have been release (ace, dru, etc.) you need to check from which label it was licensed and your quarrel should be with the label not with YSE!
Again I must agree that sometimes they are a bit late or non responsive but assuming you signed the contract and sent them the invoice the only person you need to talk to is the accounts department nobosy else!! so it would make no sense nudging on Ben or Alex cause thats not their job! Their job is to manage the company, decide what comes out when and sort out the contracts. after that's done it's out of their hands. You can fight it or play the game according to the rules as simple as that!
YSE have licensed an average of 1-4 tracks of EACH one of our releases so far and I can only praise them for allowing indipendant labels and their artists like us to make an extra income in an almost extinguished industry.

After all said and done here,i guess YSE doesnt deserve the bashing after all.

as proven here the fault is almost always by the artist or his label for not being alert enough, or lacking in communication.
Nahimoff's post reminded me that i did get one licensing payment, from one of the many trax of mine that were re-released on YSE (it was "Nasty peach" that was originally sold to nadi himself).
About the (many) other trax of mine that were released there, for which i havent seen a dime - iv'e got only the licensing label,or myself,to blame.

I think it's the most commercial cheezy label ever existed IMO !

I released a copuple of tracks there as well ... and got payed for all of them ... or the one who licenced my track got payed ...

sometimes the Labels were u sold the track rerelease it on Y.S.E again to make some xtra coins ... Not bad imho ... If u haven't singed a Track for an exclusiv release ... any Label who licensed your tracks is alowed to sell it again ...

i guess that almost every artist had this situation of knowing about license only through psyshop/others....

first reaction is going crazy

but when u think of it .. its realy one of the few that still license stuff..

we always dealed with the label that sold our tracks for YSE and split the money 50/50

how ever i think YSE will make a progress if the will upload a form to thier site or somthing where artist/labels can feel what's needed ...

that will make everything much easier , everyone is happy ...

i hope they will pick up this idea and do somthing with it....

YSE records are not 100% legit and that's a fact!

we had some track licensed by Millenium and after some time got them paid
but we also had a track licensed by Translunar, another subcompany that Ben fromm Millenium records set up
it was the track Ephedrix vs Lamat - Fade To Gray (Ephedrix remix) released in a Goa Girl compilation
now I've been sending invoices over to them constantly for almost 4 months already, I've been calling to the offices leaving messages on answering machines and other people working there, mailing to anyone else who was involved in YSE
some people told me they work for Millenium records and they can't pay the invoices because Translunar is a different company

so today finally I get Ben on the phone and what does he tell me... 4 weeks ago he had to close down Translunar and there is no money left to pay anything
oh but no problem because he's sorry.... sorry that he has been avoiding me for the last 4 months and also sorry that he can't pay the invoice

WHAT A FUCKING BULLSHIT ??!!!

in the end it was all released by YSE recordings and I don't care about how mr Ben wants to set up things
if he wants to make some new companies to rip of some people, then that shouldn't be our problem

so now in the end not only we're not getting the money we had coming for the track, but I even spent lots of money in making many many phone calls to this fucker

so anyone still owing money from this guy:

Fx 0044 207 267 4908
ben@millenniumrecords.com

you can forget about it

it's funny even his e-mail address is Millenium records... but oh no, he can't pay the invoice with Millenium, that would be wrong           Dacru Records

First of all, big companies fuck over small companies... it;s a fact of life... Microsoft didn;t get where it is by being nice and paying all it's little invoices... it stomped on the small people and made lots of money.... it suck, so does most of life, so enjoy the good bits and get over the shit...

Second, I like the Goa Girl series... it's better than most other full on crap compilations from TIP World, Mind Controlles, 3D Vision etc... at least they put some variety in it... and it keeps me a bit in touch with what the kids of today like, not that I like much of it and rarely listen to these comps)...

YSE is basically the Global Tance Network... I mean DJ Alex worked for both... he compiled most the Tantrance series many of probably love to this day.... it's sad when people get ripped, but I've been ripped off in every day life so mnay times from havign thousand frauded on my credit card to not getting the right change... life goes one...
