Well, maybe some beginner DJ's wanna get known a bit first, so playing for free is an option for them.

if i were a dj, i would never take money for playing.
all this money buisness shouldn't be a part of the pure trance expiriece both for the party people, the dj's and the organisers.
an ideal party should cost 0-30 nis just to cover up expenses.
everything is of course IMHO.
REHAB is for quitters |

well, I believe that a dj/artist must be paid well for his work, just like anybody else out there in the real world. I personally dj because it gives my life a meaning, and also I love to make ppl dance, and have been doing that for many years...  and also I love this music of course !!
as Ravergirl said, the situation today (in Israel) is that there are so many dj's and artists that just want a stage and would play for free, so some organizers are aware of it and are taking advantage of this situation in a number of ways. one way is to book some unknown new dj that will play for free. another way is to bargain with the dj till they get a better deal. the third and also the worst way to save their money is simply not to pay the dj what was agreed on before the party, if pay him at all.
and as for u logic mind:
what do u mean u don't want to listen to a dj which is not a producer? are u kidding me? some of the best dj's around had never created a single track in their lives, but still when they go out there and play a set it sounds like a magic story...
if u ask me the artists should play a live act, and the dj's should play a live set.
I go out to many parties and listen to many artists while playing their dj sets. some of them can hardly mix propertly, not to mention the lack of ability to build a real interesting set IMHO.
what I mean is being an artist dosen't necessarily mean being a good dj too IMO. we need both in our scene.
and Dovla : how many dj's (or as u call them "real dj's"...) with only original cd's in their case you know? well, I know many dj's, and non of them has only original cd's, if any at all.
let me ask you this: where can one buy all the new unreleased traxx that we hear at parties? hope you see my point.

The International Trance scene has yet to develop in many directions before it starts being significantly profitable for both dj's and organizers. I'd say that the people who are active in this scene today are pioneers of something that will eventually grow into something bigger. Meanwhile, we must all have faith and let our love for Trance lead us before anything else. |

why house , techno dj's geT payed and not trance dj's , i mean it's the same work but it's true that trance is too underground today but every dj of any kind of music should be payed even little of course it depend on the party , i organised a party last month and we asked for free djs because all the money was going for a associatioN that was in trouble and plenty djs came and played with the smile and that was great |

Ravergirl ment Dj Anti (Spiral Trax) i think, that never did a track alone and may be two trax with his label mates co-opeartions. magic Dj indeed.
Antix is Strom brothers from New Zealand, just released their debut album on Iboga and have alot of releases in past on Plastk Park, Iboga etc..
i dont want react to logic mind's post, as its his own opinion, well, everybody free think what they want. seems but he is not so understand what he say.
there is few more amazing djs out there that dont produce music, for a truth in trance is less come on thing, just becoze trance djs started to DJ only very few years ago. Dj culture in trance movement not-so-explore but we work on it
