Why should there be a problem for 8 years olds to listen to trance? or produce it? what makes this music a 'chosen' music that can be experienced by 'selected few'?

Because 8 year olds should listen to music made for 8 year olds - with words and real emotions. Auspexx sometime I really feel u want to get into one of those conflicts... comon lets see..

Trance is a synthetic culture. To understand it really ( sorry all the pure and drug free ppl ) one needs to practice hallucinogenic drugs - anyone that claims differently doesn't know what he/she talks about since the feel of this music on acid doesn't compare to anything known in this universe that I ever felt. I don't do chemical drugs for many years now, nor I try to persuade any to take some. I believe it is a private decisions that should be dealt very seriously since those chemical substances are much more than they seem to be. THAT IS WHY this music is not for 8 year olds to comprehend and not for 16 years old. Ofcourse out of those there are the 16 year olds that did psy drugs ( and lost their youth and I am very sorry for them - imo it was at least 5 years too early ), and there are those 16 year olds that started making music imitating trance made by sound engineers deep into the vibe I just explained. Those that did it good became from wizkid of yesterday to top notch producers of today - but this came out of super high technical quality of copying from psy masters. As I said those wizkids of yesterday are top psy trance acts of today. But they are very few. Most of music that is produced these days by youngsters isn't deep enough in my opinion and there is nothing bad in Pink Floyd, Front 242 or Depeche mode for teeneagers - actually is much better than trance - but that is just my opinion

Tal that doesnt make me elitist sob. I just care about ppl that is it

you shouldn't get your ego over there...

somehow i see people who lose the child in them, by this you lose your whole gladness!!!

slomi,

First you don't know me enough to say if it's my ego talking or not from this post that you quoted. Actually, this post came out from careing for others and giving a damn about 12 year olds doing extasy and 15 year olds doing acid. But that doesnt interest u does it?

Second I know enough 'Young Souls' that so full of ego that it's rather horrible to watch ( from where I am standing ) - Check your self on that slomi boy..

And I will remove my gloves only for this time...

I'm still convinced that we are dealing with 2 different scenes here - the commercial, popular scene that is IMO not really psy at all (I'd dab it "Uplifting Dance music with goa influences", but thats awkward), and the Underground movement that is still somewhere in the 90's (at least they believe they are, I have my doubts).

Anyway, I agree with Yuli that these gatherings are a channel to divert the everyday stress in Israel, which is quite big. The land is small, and the exposure to this culture is greater than in other places.

nice story psychild, i think it excellent describes the popularity of trance in your country, no matter if its commercial or "underground"
Generally i think that any released and sold track is a commercial stuff already , but this picture as soon as good for Israel , because trancemusic became very profitable export product for many of you ,Israelis, and the bad is (of course) the massive involvement of young people who cant understand and feel this vibes to the psychedelic culture .

Helen,"Uplifting Dance music with goa influences" is a right definition of modern or oldschool psytrance, the difference is the "uplifting" it or not
There's better to talk about quality and talant of "this form of expression" Vs clone artists doing tons of monotonous shit.
