You really need to hear new music then
Of course there are copycats, but copycats have been there since the happy days of the early 90's. Admit it.

5Meo-Geo I might agree with you about some but first I dont really agree with your attitude man. When having disagreement u don't have to fuck this and fuck that. You just don't have to. IMO ofcourse

Secondly about your thing with money. Nothing wrong with making music and getting paid for it dude - I hope it gets down your ears.. If not - very simple story for you: I have to move flat in 1.5 months. As one that care about my sound and quality of work I need to rebuild my studio again - do you have any idea how much that cost? Should I make it for the good spirit of things? Should I make some 7/8 tracks that wont sell? There is nothing bad in getting paid for a hard work.

Mike A - the biggest difference between you and Pink Floyd as far as I am concerned is not about the drugs and not about 30 years back. They were/are much better musicians and composers than you are at the moment. IMO again..

Or I lost your point completely?           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

You lost my point completely
I'm saying that you can't compare music from different genres.
You can compare within a genre, like saying astrix is better than psydrop (for example), but you can't say that pink floyd is better than early beatles for example. PF made music for the mind, and the beatles made the chicks groove. It's not better. Just different.
Besides - it's all about taste.

yuli i just wonder sometimes how many 'artists' would go on with their 'art' if there was no money included in the music bussines?
if noone would pay u a peny for none of ur music, would u keep doing this?
and if yes will u continue to do same music?????
what do u think?

5Meo-Geo I wonder about this myself - if u want my answer, it will be very simple. If I wont get paid for the music I make today, I wont be able ( financially ) to make this level of music ( soundwise / ideawise etc.. ) To make good stuff there is need for time. Sometimes more than a month for single track. So yeah - I would make some stuff as a side thingie if it was all free of charge, but for sure not in the quality I am able to produce today.

Mike - true, you usually can't compare music of different genres, but:
A. You can compare the overall quality value
B. You can state that certain genre doesnt suit certain crowd

About Beatles - that shows how little u know about them - there are heeps of stuff for the mind in their music just of different stature and approach.

And check out the B statement - that what I meant basically, and I will say it again.

Pink Floyd ( example ) create less drug abuse atmosphere then Trance does. It also has lyrics and superb ones and is not cold and synthetic as the Electronic genres of today. There fore I claim, that teenagers that their psyche is just 'getting there', shouldn't jump too fast into the synthetic culture - it's a bit early IMO

But hey after all I am only an old bastard. Never thought I would say things like this... I sound like my mom did

yuli i didnt ment u personaly
u have respect from me man
i know u do it coe u love it
when i said "u" i direct to anyone that makes music

well for my opinion on this isue (no money for music) we.ll get much much less 'artists' and more and more true artists that do all this just becouse they love it .

i know whats desire to hardware can make to some ppl
still there is tons of ways for artist to afford those whithout making joke of himself and sell himself and his soul

oh also there would be also much less cloned music

boom

Mike is right, comparing Pink floyd with Mike A is something like racing a boat with motorcycle (on dry surface) - impossible. Same analogy can go for full on and psyZion -bus vs' vespa...

By the way music is expressive form of art, musician has to reach his specific audience and sometimes 15 friends are not enough (dance music in particular).

Meo,no offence, but that gihad in trance (...full on nor progy have nowhere else to develop...)doesn't look good at all,in fact it smells like kind of provokative PR.

P.S. if you guys have to compare trance to rock think density,I mean take trance albom and compare it to a single song (good idea,I'll try it sometimes )

And no Crystal, being a jew wont help you understand anything,as you can see we ourself can't. As in that old saying : 2 jews - 3 different opinions

That's why I said early Beatles. At the beginning they only made "ooh chick i love you" etc songs.

So why has trance become so popular?

A couple of days ago me and some friends were on our way from Tel Aviv to Herzliya. When we passed by the Sportek (a sports park with basketball courts and a rollerblading ring) we saw lots of 13-16 yearolds and heard some doofing sounds. So we decided to see what's going on. We got inside passing a guard with a metal detector and aproached the rollerblade ring. What we saw there was about 800 kids shaking it, and onstage who it was but mr. Astrix himself.
Now from one side all of this looked really nice. The city decided that during the summer vacation kids instead of hanging out on the streets and doing vandalism, why not give them a place away from the city and make a disco into the night. But then I stepped back a bit and thought to myself what is going on here. Why of all the pop artists they decide to bring Astrix? I mean when I was in highshool doofing on my Hallucinogen cd's noone got me. What is that strange music you're listening to. The closest thing they heard to trance was Eyal Barkan. Then I would've killed for a free party in the city park. I never would've dreamed such a thing could b possible. I mean I know trance has become VERY popular in our country. It's just that at that moment seeing all those kids digging to the sounds of RaHeya as if it was another Britney Spears songs had made me see it that much closer.
Now I ask myself is this for better or for worse? Seeing 14 yearolds dancing to the music I've adored and have made my lifestyle for the past 8 years, is this good or bad? Will this lead to total commercialization of our music, or will these kids grow up and make for a more tolerable country to parties and will not outlaw this coulture?           "Just as every skill is strengthened by practice, so is every bad habit made worse by repetition."

Psychild

For benchmarking Trance as a labeled electronic genre and moving it forward - soon clips on the television is super good.

But unfortunately hand in hand it kills the psy vibe ( or what left of it ). Those who responsible for it look only for more income and don't really care for roots of this music. But this is how it is in our country... Find even most pure of things and someone will appear trying to make some money on it's behalf...

yeah Yuli I guess you're right, there was an Esc(the cell company) logo behind Astrix on that stage. But I don't think making money out everything is an Israeli speciality, I think this is the way it is all over the world. But nowhere is this happening to psy-trance. So why of all the genres? Btw I thought this fad for trance had already passed us like 2-3 years ago with dardasaba tracks at weddings.           "Just as every skill is strengthened by practice, so is every bad habit made worse by repetition."
