indeed weird are the ways of ah'llah...
sending the dimwits to us...
but that's where all the real fun is, right?           "The Blues is'nt about making you feel better. It's about making others feel worse, and make a few bucks while you're at it." - "Bleeding gums" Murphey.

Everyone is saying that psychedelic is good only when you're on drugs. I never tried drugs, and sometimes i am smiling or almost crying when i'm listening to some special tracks. I tried to give this music to my friends. Some say: what kind of music is that?! It's not music, it's some crappy sounds... But some say that it's not so bad, just because they are my friends. But you know, maybe when you're trying to introduce someone to trance you should let them hear something most of people like? something like Infected mushroom? something with melody? Because people are getting scared by all this extreme weirdness at once. You need to do it slowly, from something simple, and then something more specific. Remember, what have you first heard and what did you think of it? Like i heard Bust a Move, and i loved this piano in it, and this sound of walking on snow in the beginning. So i decided to get some more, and i got Kadafi, which is melodical too. So then i just downloaded more and more. And since then i get more and more music every day, and buying CDs too. And i'm so happy that i know what trance is and psychedelic, and what's its difference from techno. lol

Try Hallucinogen - LSD, that track is the #1 "converter" track of all times, at least with the more serious listeners (people who like Pink Floyd or Ozric Tentacles and aren't open to trance usually dig this one, it's a lesson in psychedelia), there's a thread about these types of tracks somewhere in this section. Again, I loved trance when I was 13. I went to my first parties and even a festival without smoking pot, taking drugs, or whatever. It's all a matter of making someone LISTEN, not just hear the music at the right time at the right place.

Ohh yeah, some people just don't like the style because it doesn't suit them, that happens too. When I was playing some trance in a hostel while travelling, a Canadian techno fan said "I understand what you find in the music, and I respect that. I just prefer a strong bass and some clanging in my techno". A friend of mine which is very openminded about music told me "I can't stand the droning beats and controlled style... if they'd do this in a more freeform way I'd love it".

Taste has a lot to do with the music you like. There's no need to overglorify it, it being there is enough for me.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
