What do you mean "usa sub genres"? There's tons of American trance, so much that we're having a 5 day festival purely focused on American trance (The AUM Festival in July). I'm sure many "sub genres" of trance will be represented there, from dark to full on to progressive to tech.
So what do you mean by "no usa sub genres"? |

there is much USA trance out there as well as many unique labels that have made their own sound
For example:
the label Psybooty has created its own distinct "sub-genre" of progressive
the Mistress of Evil label has also created their own sound of harder psychedelic trance and coined the term "Trauma Trance" which is used world wide now
the Geomagnetic & Vaporvent labels have a unique sound and with Chromatone and Random have created a very unique style of harder edged full on which has been refered to as the San Francisco sound
aside from that the USA has recently contributed many names now touring the international circuit such as Ghreg on Earth, Mubali, Quasar, Ocelot, Allien Mental, BodhiSattva as well as the aforementiond Chromatone and Random
Also the USA has several DJ's that have made a noticible mark on the international scene with compilations and being signed with overseas labels like Doctor Spook, Treavor Moontribe, and yours truly...
and laslty lets us not forget that Penta calls the USA home base and CPU, Sirius Isness and Mekkanika all got their start here many years ago

Yeah those who are REALLY good have made their impact on the world circuit.
Labels such as MOE have done so. I dont think the rest have made the same impact in terms of quality. But thats just my opinion, no offense.
As for the artists Mubali , Ocelot , GOE and Quasar have released some splendid material. Alien Mental could be included but he is originally Indian.
Regarding DJ's, i have only seen 7-8 different DJ's in action and i dont feel they are on par with what i have heard back in India or in Europe for that matter- this is in terms of story and mixing skills. Thats again my personal opinion.
It is just a matter of time i guess, artists like Primordial Ooze are bound to make it far, their sound really rocks, just a matter of exposure i guess.
And as Paradigm said Max and Davina from Sirius Isness, Samy CPU and Roy from Painkiller and Nico from Inneraction all happened to start off in the US. Later moving to Spain and Isreal.
Cheers! |

Rajatrao i normally see you as being right on the mark with most things, and not wanting to detract to far from the point of this topic.. i want to add a little footnote to your opinions....
Im not sure where you call home, but in regards to your thoughts about US dj's you should really get out west sometime. 80% of the time, the locals school and down right embarass most out of country visitors. I know this holds true for both SF & LA. There are of course exceptions, but i think that because of the showmanship old-school rave culture instilled in many american DJ's, many US trance dj's more often than not can and do outshine our forign counterparts, esp,in the mixing dept.
When it comes to live acts however, I think we have some catching up to do
anyways though its all opinions, and i appreciate the fact you were courtious enough to state such, and not claim your opinions as gospel

@Paradigm good to hear from you
Firstly when i say home i mean India However, you are probably right. I am new to this country and have experienced the stories and sets of few DJ's, primarily in Illinois and Iowa, so my opinion was moulded based on what i heard out there. I dont deny that i am quite a critic(and too critical and times) and it does take a lot to please me, at the same time those i am impressed by, i do all i can and go to any length to promote them if its going to push them that much further to put them amongst the "best".
I have heard a lot about your sets too. And i will be @ the Iowa party coming up on Feb 3rd. I really hope you do live up to my expectations, im pretty sure you will
See you soon mate and have a great year ahead

Very funny Takuan! lol Well I am moving into my dorm room, so that is why no reply. I was really saying, There aren't any good artist in the usa who make electronic music, rather, why isn't there a usa, all we get is north america. Oh well
Come to think of it, I don't really know any, signed and huge electronic acts in the usa, then again I am not expert. Though in goa and psytrance, all the main guys are coming from israel. Really huge there. Don't understand though. Keep Rockin |

Hey Mystic Vibes
It is true that the Isreali's have vastly dominated the psy electronic scene for quite sometime. But i wouldnt say the "main guys" only come from Isreal. Sound has evolved and you have fantastic artists coming from Russia , Japan , Spain , India and the US as well - Mubali , Chromatone and Ocelot for example , all extremely big names that have been headlining the world stage pretty often. Ocelot for one has been driving Japan crazy with his live sets , they are quite an amazing experience i can assure you - and yes he does play "more live" than a lot of artists do these days.
As for the DJ's you have a point. I guess its a lack of exposure and with the limited hearing i have had also in terms of quality id say. I did download Wichdokta's set and i dont think it came anywhere close to making me orgasm , maybe i expect too much it was just that the sets were very mediocre IMO so no offense. Do check out Paradigm if you enjoy twilight , he certainly knows what he is doing IMO and his mixing is tighttt
Cheers!
