Why is "Israel" so Psy?

pondering over the fact that why/how is israel so well aware and active in the psy scene.
How did israel get into soooo much of psy...

That's a question I've been asking myself for quite a while now and would like to have an answer too.
What I can say is that the beacuse Israelis are forced to go to military,afterwards many of them go to India and offcourse trance used to be called GOA TRANCE so I can see some sort of connection there.
But I'm still curious to hear some replies from our Israeli friends. |

because everyone here takes drugs.. from kids to old people.
its on the t.v all the time, they encouraging us to do it..
you can see it on commercials and programs in channel two.. this channel is a drug channel.. they talk about it like it is ok to tell the whole country that doing bongs is good..
thats how it looks anyway.

It has become sort of a custom in Israel, starting of the 1980's, that most of the Israeli youth, after finishing it's military service (which is compolsory, well sort off...), goes travellig away from Israel. That's in order to clean the head, release the stress etc.
Now, the Far East (especialy India and Thailand) and South America became the most popular travelling destination.
So, when the trance scene started to evolve in Goa, there were allot Israelies that are willing to "take part of the experiment..."
and as you can see they didn't stop the experiment when they got back to Israel.
Naturaly, this is not the whole story. but you can see there's a strong connection between the 2.

I don't think it's so strange that Israel is "psy". Look at England, it's very "dnb" for instance (of course there is a lot more).
And I think Israel is on psy, the same way as Germany has been on most kinds of electronic music (or music in general); focusing a lot of their own nations musicians, instead of just getting everything from the US or England.

why israel is so psy? well there allot of reasons i gues...
first , in a counrty with so many problems wich is always in horrible stress like israel, people looking for a place to run away, and it's not just the army, everyone that had been to israel can tell it's a stress counrty, temper people and always anxiouis(well it seems normal to us but i'm sure tourist are amazed by that.
afterwards comes the army part, well in most countries army is a job like everything else, in Israel when u'r 18, similar to the age 18 years old start's ther lifes in colleges and do what ever they want, here u have to join the army if u like it or not for 3 long years u have to take orders wear uniform and face reality that 18-21 year old over the world would carp their pants from just hearing about it, so i gues after such a period, people here just want freedom to do whatever they feel like with no obligation and planing but first "clear the mind" . as u know ... nothing can make u feel more alive and free than psychedelic music/psychedelic parties/psychedelic drags .
that's why is so popular here

Its all about the culture...
Psytrance is a major part of Israeli culture these days, which is because of (IMO) Israeli travellers exploring the far east in the 80s-90s...

so not true man about channel 2 but never mind...
asking that question is like asking why the football players from Brazil usuly the best players or something like that (not that i think israel makes the best trance music)
its all about way of life... long time ago if ppl knew ur listening to trance (in israel) ur a bad person or a drug addict or just another criminal or wotever.... today all kind of ppl listening to that music and all kind of ages from 14-60 ...
i dont want to make this post to another subject but i think that Infected Mushroom reveal that scene to a biger audience .. well atlist in israel.
now if u check the far east u will see that 85% maybe more are israeli tourists and as we know the far east is great way to know wot trance is all about, and when u come back from there u want annything that remind you about far east and wots better than listening to some psychodelic tunes
in israel of today its "CooL" to listen to trance, lol its even "Cooler" to make that shit
