Why do you like/dislike GMS?

Hi to everybody.Finally I decieded to connect to isratrance forum.
So,as a SPUN dj,as a long term Goa abbituant and as a trance lover,I want to tell something.
I know some ppl around who blaim GMS that they ve got the FORMULA of the dancefloor,andjust making all the tracks due to this ''formula'',not trying to make any new searches and moves.
Right.
But,the Chemistry shows us that the change of the formulas of the Good products is not for the best.
The best example-old A.Hoffman.
I dont think that something positive will be happen if he will deciede to change the Main Formula.
Trance,labels,djs,promosystems and even this forum will be not exist then,as well,isnt it ?
And.It doesnt matter you like their music or not,the guys are doing their job extremly good.Their LIVEs are blasting the crowd, people,get hapyness,get dance,get psychedelic effect.Thats why we are here.To rock!!! |

i don`t like the gms concept of making tracks about drugs. it`s killing the trance music. especially 1200 mics.
xtazy xtazy xtazy acid acid acid. IMHO with such hymns of trance music it makes the scene - "an empire of drugs". |

With all my respect....this is all Bull...T!!!
I don`t like them just because they are F.....G. boring once you hear 1 tune you hear all.
Pure formula,quite useful  ,but still formula.Besides ,Why I have to suffer other people,many,bad`s taste.
Besides this formula creates this boring full-on patterns who everybody must follow because If don`t they don`t sale.
Awful.

Sorry but is anyone standing next to your cd player guarding it just to make sure that the g.m.s. album that you like least is always on replay? I don't understand why people love to complain this much about this. Gms is far from my favorite pair of artists around, still i managed to have a really good time on the dancefloor at their dj set last week.
If you don't like the sound they are making feel free to visit parties that play other music, if the whole powertrance thing doesn't appeal to you just ignore it. if you can't go to parties while doing so i would even suggest you organiser your own, i'm sure you would be capable of small events with artists that you do like.
you don't have to suffer for other people's taste, i even encourage you not to. Now please keep your bad vibes to yourself and try to enjoy the music that you do like instead of pointlessly insulting people.
Adding the remark "with all my respect" does not make your reply more respectfull.

Ohhh yes, you have to bring back this thread, nasty guys... 
I like GMS, but I don't like to go to parties and hear every DJ playing THE SAME GMS track. So if you want play GMS, go ahead, but please don't play the same track everyone else's playing. GMS has a hundred tracks, be different, just don't choose the "nowdays GMS big hit".  Thanks!

i like GMS very much....cause it's was one of the first artist i started to listen to:D....i havent heard them live yet but this year full moon will change that i hope:D

Has no one thought of a subscription service for GMS fans? There's no need to formally release 90% of their stuff, IMHO. Its just filler for many comps.

I love GMS for the way they make you feel cool (esp. for the kind of psychedelic sounds they use)!
ps: i'm sure even hard-core GMS bashers will have a soft corner for them.....respect! |

1st_if tomorrow, a guy from gms come here and started a thread, well, 30 min after, it would have like 10 pages of answers....good or bad publicity?is publicity!!
2nd_if tomorrow there was a party of gms somewhere near my house i would see them...ok it´s "pop trance", but sure rocks the dance floor(one of the best live´s i´ve heard, was from them on boom 2002) and that´s what i want...for home listenning, i hear something else, within my tastes....

Respect to GMS.... they have a sound, and they know it well...
i don't like it all, but there is alot of GMS music that can make u smile and dance like none other.... yes it is their formula... and when they pull it off well....... the floor errupts !
I think they were the first artists to sample Human Traffic... one of my fav movies
(^_^)... 'i'm havin the best time... being off my pickle... and feeling the music !'
Personally i dislike Alien *Reject* for his hand in the demise of Synthetic Saddhus... MHO !

I dont agree that they are one the best in the scene Cedric... As you said it's a matter of taste and that's why you can think they are the best and I can think they are not the best.
I think they once had some cool music (in the beginning) but now they just repeat themselves over and over again using the same old formular... But one thing is for sure... They are cool guys and fun to be hanging out with
