Well...as i said be4...there r producers like sbk, phony orphants, kind of mixing house stuff to it, producers like ticon, freq in a kinda of psychedlic groove....n the serious prog producers, not for kids listennin, having really dark melodies like, sensient, cujorious 1, igneous and la baaz....try those! because the "term" prog today can be easely mistaken with minimal, electro and house influences....what prog r we talking about???? |

Ok I admit...I listened to the Sensient-Antifluoro Album a few times now and im really beginning to like it...Bufo is kind of rocking in its own way also
And actully if I think back some of my best trance dance experience were prog floor.......Ticon, Antix, Son kite...
I have now made peace with progressive trance and want to explore it a little more....variety is always good. 
Maybe i was just frustrated that I havnt been at a festival for a year

- why do people like rock?
- why do people like RnB
- why do people like ambient?
- why do people like heavy metal?
- why do people like jazz?
...
simple it's the music they wish to listen to and dance on at a party....

4 your asking the kind of prog i was talking about
is the progresive house, the non psy prog, its the prog with low bpm and house sounds in it and have no psy at all. (the king that play in a house club after party).
sensient, hux flux, mos ... i dont call them prog, its realy good psy trance !
i wish 2 hear it in partys but as i said all i hear in psy partys in israel its the kind of prog house. |

in my first prog expereans i was sure im in a house club but it was a "psy party".
the best prog set i ever heard was by 2 student that make prog music with lots of psy in it and it was amazing!
i dont like cheasy full on, but u can say that derango is full on - as u say sensient is prog.
same same but different diffrrent.

How many times do we have to go over the same "eye of the beholder" concept..
All of this is just preference..I've basically turned to the more progressive and morning side of things at the moment and now, like Pavel, I feel the same way when I listen to darker tunes..
Basically if you don't like the tracks and don't wanna dance to them, go grab a chair and chill out..it's all just preference..people like progressive trance because it has everything that darkpsy usually doesn't as far as the "feeling" aspects of it, to attempt to answer your question.
You won't get one answer to why people like prog trance, but I can say that it's completely preference and perception of the music around them..
"Progressive trance is not psychedelic" isn't true at all..not to say that ALL prog trance is psychedelic but to some people it can be..to me prog and morning artists can be very uplifting most times, which i happen to find pretty psychedelic as far as the euphoric aspect of it..it's just nice to dance to for me..
Troll, you can't say that "progressive people" are open minded if some of them have no respect for the dark sounds..because as much as I've been turning away from darkpsy lately I still have great respect for artist like Highko..whose tracks are a lot more groovy than some of the new prog being released imo. The true open minded people in this area are the ones you see dancing out there all night and morning, regardless of music, not caring about track structure and saw waves and etc., just completely immersed in the music and having fun..
That's what it's all about for me..I'll dance to Naked Tourist and FREq back to back.

imo i wrote..you have another and either mine or yours is better imo they are openmind for mixing genres than the "psy" people
and half of thosoe people ahs nothing to do with beeing openmind they are just pumped with so many drugs that they dont know where they are ahaha 
and for me there is nothing wrong with know what i like and what i dont like as long you dont say i dont like this without hearing it and giving it a chance
