Indeed. As far as I know he has never played "goa." But he did play trance, he started Harthouse you know ... 
These days he's spinning techno and tech-house.
Anyways ... this is off-topic

sven vath played in goa in that times when there was no such term as goa trance. he and some others played there techno, back that days all dance 4/4 music called techno. but its a mother of all goa sound and goa style parties.
today he play cocoon sound:) ibiza techno style. some of his mix cds are stuning stuff man, check it out, especialy cocoon season 3 a double cd with day part of it.
and when der dritte raum maded this "techno" track named haleboop every goa sunrise has it for few seasons:)

hi
about sven vath he was in goa beginning 90 also
anyway to late to be in the beginning
also he played some goa tunes for awhile but then got bored and went back to his techno background
and Zombi "halebopp" came out like 97 also very very late
the partys were kicking allready beginning 80 around 83 to 85 so way before sven and the dritte raum stuff
allright still hope to see someone writing here that knows what happened
i am still trying to find out with my freinds
one he was in goa 1965 till 79 and he tells me a lot about
but he missed kinda the techno grooves, end seventies
rock reggae and the first disco wave was hitting the goa beaches (i heard some tunes from fullmoon parties,
goa gil playing bassguitar and eight finger eddie improvising on the mic)
anyway all the infos you have please share
i am really interrested

the first guy to play electronic music at a party (not DJ)... was Dr Bobby. people were having one of their usual acid parties with live music, drumming etc. etc... Dr. Bobby showed up with his boombox and dropped it on the sand and that was the first time anyone played electronica in goa. people started to trip out to it immediatly. this yoga-junkie named Peter (Homeo Peter) punched Dr. Bobby in the face, and said 'thats for bringing techno to goa!'

as far as i got the infos DR.Bobby was
from Kalifornia and was the Owner or a Doctor of a Psychiatric Clinic where they also made lsd therapies
also not to forget in this regard Acid Eric with his infamous
Golden Earring (Lsd25)
and allways a few drops to share
so janux if you know more i am allways interrested

Cause I came in Goa first time in 94,and started to get into the scene (know the names,stories,faces,etc.)from the next season,I cant be 100 % hystorically correct,but as far as I know,the first generation (old school)-tapes -end of 80s and very lately-DATs,of Goa djs were Laurant,Disco Freddy,Goa Gill and Fabian ( as Giuzeppe wrote upper)
Around 1994-96 came up the 2nd,DAT generation
mostly from the kids,grew up in Goa,and,I can say,true GOA djs-Riktam,Bansi,Amrit,Domino,small Yonas...as well as "incomers"such as Miko and Kushi(Isr),Riktam,Bansi and Amrit (Holl),Tsyoshi(Jp),Kali(Sp),Sid Shanty and Dino(Eng),and X.P.(Rus...it's me,hehe)
There were many more ,but I am speaking about the people who were not just passing Goa to play,but were GOA dj's-stayed a season in Goa,were known and loved by the crowd.
From 97 started to arrive the 3d-MD generation,and I cant say that this years brought any new names,cause MD sound was never loved in Goa.Exept only Teo (98)-who played DAT,and for many years collected the music,so he just blasted.
Around 2002 Goa went out in the new dimention-Cd players pushed out all the rest devices,the professional level of the djs uprised a lot,but I cant name anyone who came after that time to play in Goa -GOA DJ-cause Goa trance as a life and music style alreay transformed into GLOBAL WORLDWIDE TRANCE MOVEMENT,and the rest djs names ( good,bad ,whatever),with the appriciation of their existance I wouldnt put in this particular topic.

Dont forget Ray Castle, Amanda, Ulf & Jonas from sweden and ofcourse Ollie Wisdom who used to hang in Goa till 94-95. |
