who was the frist dj in goa and where is he now ?

My first time in Goa was back in 1986 where i experienced a Full Moon party in Baga....but i first got really into this music in 91-92, so the best person to tell this story would be Dj Teo (Discovalley): he has been there from the very start !! |

I believe that Laurent was one of the first Dj's and yes i think he was swiss. He's back in Europe, Switzerland, organising small parties. Also Claudia, german woman who is the mother of Yoshi used to play at some of the first parties. |

as i recall he played there, and correct me if i`m wrong he released first goa trance tracks on his label back in the days
I know Sven Väth has been a dj since 1982, but I didn't know he was playing in Goa? I thought he was one of the people who created the scene in Frankfurt (and well, most of Germany)

Laurent is swiss born near lausanne
can tell you soon more
one of the first clubs in goa was made from the
happy people productions (Urs and friends)
more swiss people
i think it was called "flying dragons jungle express"
was around 1980
before they made hhp in boracay/phillipines 1982
another important person was Ruedi also from swiss
his brother Martin has still a big collection from these days
(we are working at moment at a special cd serie called
"Made in Goa" coming out beginning next year)
he was the one who brought a lot of the early days music to goa before people started to produce there
early producers: mike maguire - johann bley - youth
and i think actually the first label was Dragonfly
what brings me to another person Acid Allen
he is either french or british
for long time he got every track that was made
he is the psychedelic trance library
i hope he is still updated
i m glad people like this topic
me think its important to know from where its coming from
and in a time where there is so much new people in this scene
and so much variety
i dont wanna say "the good old days" (i wasnt there )
but just to get a picture of the extreme melting pot
and the enormous creativity that was exploding at the early days in goa...
and for me that moment in history is for sureeeeeee
very special hard to compare to past events
perhaps alexandria in egypt or further back in unknown times of humankind...
but this explosion of music that came out of goa changed the world...
No techno no bumbum no parties no rave culture
sure i dont wanna say , techno was made in goa
but allmost

no one has mentioned my favorite dj of the time
sal or andy smith(tuffan) and dick trevor
they were there early on and dino.
fred disko tells me stories of the early days in the seventies before laurant and gill he says
but who knows.
loved being there in the early ninties was special time.
also amrit was one of the first goa kids no...... |

Hehe! its funny you mention Allen! He's definately the Psychedelic Trance Librarian in the Goa story. Totally into the Suomi sound nowdays.

yes very very true . i think Teo has been there from the very start and he sure knows abt lots n lots of things which some ppl might not know abt at all .. so may be u can try ur luck in chapora=)
