Thats resurrected an old thread!

Yes, sorry for that. I didn't want to warm up an old discussion. Found this thread & community while googling and thought that "Jeff" might be still hanging out here.

Just wanted to provide him these links to the real player movies. ok, I admit the quality is rather bad, but it's the first "VooV" in 1991 with appx. 1000 people even when the name wasn't established then.
When I recall it right the Voov in Soltau 92 had about 4000 guests, but I didn't find any impressions of that time on the web. Just thought this blast from the past might be for his interested.

Cheers!

I had put in plug for them earlier on in the thread!

Not sure if the Uk was unusual in the psychedelic techno, hippy/rave cross over of the early 90s - can any one shed any light on what was going on in their own countries at the time?

I'd suggest a visit to http://www.scu.edu.au/schools/carts/contmusic/mh/goa.html

An excellent reference, very comprehensive, written by Fred Cole and Michael Hannan

My vote goes for pink floyd's "on the run". those guys had it all figured out a decade before anybody else was even thinking about psytrance. but hey i didn't hear any mention of 'the greatful dead' they were using synths right after they were first comin out and were throwing some of the earliest rave style parties in san fran back in the late 60's. saw a documentary on them where they showed one of these parties: just a big square white room with one guy on the synths, trippy lighting and a bunch of people all trippin on acid and dancin very silly, all very psycadelic i might add although the music was somewhat chaotic.

Definately "on the run" had pure ACID elements long before the 303 was invented.

Maybe this stream from BBC2 is something you like. A documentary about sound experimental art in music's history.

I have a track from 1967 that is a psychedelic classic, and it's at 145bpm Hawkwind did a track on their 2nd album (1971) which is very psy-trance like imho, and again is about 143-145bpm           Turn On, Tune In, Trance Out!!!
